It seems a strange decision to put three mellow songs in a row; “Beautiful With You”, “In Your Room”, “Break In”, but they’re all great tracks. I Miss The Misery” was a guaranteed radio hit, and in this case, this is not a derogatory comment; Lzzy’s performance is exceptional and truly exciting. Always in my opinion it's another song that indirectly gives a message that you don’t have to care about what others think of you and you got to do the thing you want no matter what!
Those of you that have brought the deluxe edition will be treated with three extra bonus tracks, a couple of which are possibly stronger then the album tracks themselves, "Don't Know How To Stop" and "Hate It When You See Me Cry. The electric vibration of the theme combined with an alluring tone defines, to some extent, the way Halestorm approaches musical art.
It’s been three years since the release of Halestorm’s debut in 2009 and this new album has been a long time coming!
The Strange Case Of…’ opens with “Love Bites (So Do I)”, which, in my opinion, is up there with the best hard rock songs; it’s loud, energetic and full of attitude. It is impossible not to instantly get in to the song, thanks to Arejay Hale’s pounding drum beat and the tough-as-nails guitar riff that follows.
I’m happy to say that it was well worth the wait as this album is exactly what I’ve been looking for this year; it covers it all, there’s balls out rock, there’s amazing ballads, modern rock songs and there’s balls out rock.
