About this deal

If you’re the only player that bid for the donut, than you take it and place it face up in front of you. But if you want a family game with an approachable theme, I don’t think you can go wrong with these donuts. Before seeing this game, I would never have considered that drawing faces on donuts would make for such a cute little theme. When taken from the donut row, it comes with an excellent power: Take up to three cards of your choice from the discard pile.

If a card you have won is an action card, then the effects are resolved as soon as it is placed in front of you. Maple Bar – Scores 3 points at the end of the game, but only if you have more than 6 types of donuts. A little about our family… My wife and I love playing board games, card games and any tabletop game that we can get our hands on in our home. It is the first game I have ever come across that actually plays in LESS time than the box estimates.

When this happens, each player will then look at each of the cards in front of themself and count up the points received for each one, being sure to include any points earned from any special powers noted in the text of each one. Jason Brigger, aka the Dad: Co-host of the weekly pop culture centric podcast, The History of Bad Ideas (on Nerdly! Each player receives the Donut card under the corresponding column in relation to the player’s Numbers card played but if two or more players play the same Numbers card, no one gets the card and the Donut card moves to the discard pile.

This makes it great for playing with children because even though the subtleties might elude them, they’re still in with a chance. The endless amount of ways to win the game makes me keep playing and trying to figure out new strategies each time. There maybe slight differences in colours, text and other presentation but the basic platform of the item will be what you purchased. As a board and card game reviewer, I'm hoping that this blog will inform, educate and entertain you. This variety helps to keep the choices interesting, which is good, because that’s really the central focus of the game.

As much as Sushi Go really set the bar for an easy introduction into set collection mechanics, slathered over a theme that was eye-catching and welcoming, I would argue that Go Nuts For Donuts is just as significant as a welcoming game. Each card has a colored background and dot around the outside of the description box to help players determine which cards to use. Go Nuts for Donuts features cutely drawn food, easy to learn mechanics, and more set collection goodness.

At that point, each player counts up their points and the player with the highest total is the winner! So do you select the same card if you need to stop them, or move elsewhere if you really want to make sure you get a card. After all the donuts have been collected or discarded, the game ends and the player with the most points wins. Place the stack of donuts face down to form a draw pile and reveal and place one donut into the space below each numbered counter.
