This one was super good I loved every second of this couple even the times when I wanted to smack Garrett few times. I’m hella excited for book 3, I definitely recommend reading this series if you haven’t read it yet. The darker issues than a person can deal with and seeing from the male perspective isn't often shown. She is everything I want in a FMC just the right balance between confident and a little unsure when in new territory.

The only other queer character of note in this book is Drake, Garret’s best friend who’s known as a “manwhore” and “player” later surprises Garret by being bi/pan👀 so y’know just playing into every stereotype about bi people. I seriously am riding a high, and writing this review and rereading quotes has me already wanting to reread it. I can show you my sometimes ugly mess of a life and you can show me yours, and it doesn’t scare us away. Garrett has always been a voyeur so it comes as no surprise that when he’s feeling a little lonely and sunk a few beers he decides to download a camgirl app, intending to watch. i was expecting a bit more “taboo” since this is a step-siblings romance but honestly it was barely mentioned that I forgot for almost the entirety of the book that they were.

Reading the 1-star reviews is just so funny because so many of them were like, "if you take out the smut you have no plot. I love that Mia is a camgirl, not something I have seen in a book before, so that originality was amazing. The heroine is slightly more fleshed out with her conflict about being a cam girl, and the fact that she has some other aspirations besides that, but even that is extremely flimsy. Man, I had to take breaks in between because things were so intense and my emotions were in overdrive. But I think it just showcases that its perfectly normal and okay that you might not care for one book by an author and you might absolutely love another, even in the same series. He is a bit more reticent (as he should be since he's the older one) but it's still very much like a trope checklist, not something that gets dwelled on much. This story is about two people overcoming their insecurities and loving one another despite their flaws.The premise alone will turn off many readers: Mia Harris, 23, has long been in love with her stepbrother, Garrett Porter. Being a cam girl made her feel empowered and it also gave her the opportunity to connect with someone. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older and I’m becoming more comfortable experiencing things outside of my comfort zone and experimenting with things that I was previously closed off to, whether that is in books or in my own personal life. A lot of the qualities which lend themselves to the whole voyeur thing just don't jive all that well with my personal romance tastes. NO, Mia clearly says that he still has episodes and still goes to therapy and that everyday they work for his happiness AND THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE.

I loved the taboo relationship we see, the sexual tension and the slow builds to firecracker climaxes.It felt like it was somewhat glanced over and I would’ve preferred a deep dive into it, since it felt so relatable. Saying that, I wish there had been more build up with Garretts manic depression - I feel like all of a sudden it was just a thing and we hadn't really had the opportunity to grow through it with him before he faced it head on.
