This is smooth as silk, sweet, warm, masculine, extremely seductive, has so much depth, and that ginger and grapefruit while not noticeable to smell (at least not for me) gives this fragrance an overall fresh feeling that helps to not make it heavy and perfectly blends everything together. However this scent has become rather generic nowadays with a raft of dupes and orientals that is flooding the market. Both have hints of harshness in the opening, and by the time those clear up there isn't much left to enjoy, so abysmal is their performance.For my money, The One EDT is a great pillar fragrance, a dependable, mass-pleasing scent that retains a lot of character and attitude. After being disappointed with the lasting power of the EDT version I purchased a few years back, which lasted about an hour on my skin, I decided to take a chance on the EDP despite some reviewers expressing concerns about its performance as well. For context, I wear MM Jazz Club almost every day, so I'm big into warm and sweet scents, and I don't mind if they lean masculine. I never thought it was anything special, never repurchased it, but a after 5 or so years of not smelling it and having my chronic sinusitis treated, I’m smelling this in a different way and I can’t get enough of it. This is the signature scent of a friend and I am glad he likes this because it’s very pleasant to smell.

If you don't care about performance, go for this one as it's cheaper than the EDP and a little fresher. Often I like to bring out the tobacco note in The One by a light layer of Tobacco 1812 by West Third Brand. I'll add that, out of those two, the EDP is less formal leaning to me, which isn't necessarily what you'd expect. I'm not easy to please when it comes to fragrances, yet despite being a "designer perfume" The One EdP captivates and allures me each time I smell it. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .On my skin the tobacco is barely there, buried somewhere deep in the mix beneath the lovely interplay of grapefruit, ginger and cardamom. I now deeply regret this decision as I could never get my nose on one of the best scents I've ever had the pleasure to smell.

With 12-15+ sprays its still gone within two hours, with little to no projection or sillage after the first 30 minutes.

Wanted By Night has the dark and dry tobacco-based component in the forefront, The One far in the back. I can't quite wrap my head around what I am smelling in this one (edit : I think it's the grapefruit), but it's really really good.

A funny story while traveling I brought a number of different fragrances and once again the EDT always did the best.The fragrance opens with sparkling bergamot and mandarin, blended with the notes of lychee and peach. While it may not be a longevity powerhouse or project too strongly, this is a deliberate design choice, maintaining an enigmatic aura that keeps the scent close to the wearer, enticing those around. Whilst sweet, it’s not cloying or headache inducing like some trendier fragrances, but doesn’t really smell outdated or mall-like to me. I enjoy this fragrance a lot, sadly i can’t find it anymore, sadly I’m 1/3 of the bottle done and I’d like to get another one or replace it with something similar.
