Description

Blending prayer and praise and building upon the ancient wisdom of traditional Celtic Christianity, this prayer book is extraordinarily fresh. A brilliant tool to help us rediscover Advent, to reflect daily, personally, spiritually, and to learn abundantly from a truly inspired and dedicated author. The e-book has app-like features and includes the Daily Prayer and Compline liturgies, the Meditations for the Day from Book 2 and all four years of Daily Readings from Books 1 and 2. v=1627502017","options":["Format"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":21874914885823,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0. Nine longer liturgies and reflections based on the lives of specific Saints like Brigid, Brendan and Hild.

Celtic Daily Prayer Book 1: The Journey Begins is the first in a two-volume collection of liturgies, prayers and meditations from the Northumbria Community, inspired by ancient Celtic Christianity, but reaching out to bring inspiration and comfort to all today who seek to be still and to find spiritual truth.

In this respect the Community follows the rich tradition of monastic communities through the centuries. The ebook also contains the Scriptures for each day’s readings in full from the New Revised Standard Version Bible and music from the Celtic Daily Prayer CD (though the music files will not play on all devices).

Whether our own extemporary prayers and the personal quiet time or the structured approach of liturgy.CDP Book 1 has a new cover which is complimentary to CDP Book 2 and there are some minor amendments including an expanded Shabbat liturgy and an enlarged saints’ biographies and resources section. There is also clear guidance on how and when to use the material in imaginative ways, and on the benefits of utilising the imagery and themes of Celtic Christianity. Weekdays consist of a short reflection on a section of the text, followed by a prayer and some points for contemplation. These are examined from a Lectio Divina perspective, connecting us more intimately with the living God, and encouraging us to be transformed through the sacred reading of Scripture.
