About this deal

So once you've finished looking at Brenda's beaver, you've got putting Tony's nuts in your mouth to look forward to. Holy Hell, take me a little to figure out what was talking about, but was kind of funny, but not exactly something I'm agree,. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Derek Gow is a man after my own heart, with no interest in diplomacy, but with single-minded determination and a clear vision: to bring beavers back, and to bring nature back, to Britain.

With their building prowess and distinctive features, beavers are a rare, but wonderful sight in UK waters following their extinction and re-introduction.

In 2013, the Finnish press crowned Tuomainen the ‘King of Helsinki Noir’ when Dark as My Heart was published. It’s not just about beavers – it’s about humans too, and how, when we really set our minds to it, we can make a difference. This isn’t really a children’s book but I feel like most children will miss the double entendres (so it should be OK for them to read this) which means this would be a really funny book for the entire family to read together (and make storytime more fun for the parents). In no way would I ever read this to a kid like some of the below comments suggest, but it would make a great gag gift. Is it possible to combine the increasingly dangerous world of the adventure-park business with the unpredictability of life in a blended family?

Pages to support the Challenge Awards and some of the Activity Badges, particularly those worked towards at home. This book is for those with a specific interest in beavers and their reintroduction, and for anyone with a general curiosity in natural history, ecology or animal behaviour. The UK is amongst the world’s most wildlife depleted countries, in spite of the fact that we have over three million nature-loving voices. Bringing Back the Beaver … is a rich and, frankly, fucking funny insight into the human attitudes, systems and bureaucracy that have impeded faster progress to reintroducing this keystone species back into the British landscape. The definitive badge and awards guide for Beavers and Leaders featuring all you need to know about the badges and how to earn them!

Though this book showed how we should also consider the opinion or suggestions of other people, what you still feel about yourself matter the most. I had this book recommended to me by a friend, who hoped I would read and review Bimisi Tayanita’s handful of “children’s stories meant for adults”.

This book presents a case for our future coexistence with beavers by providing factual information on this species that has now passed from national memory, covering the biology, behaviour and ecology of the Eurasian beaver in a British context, from their early history in archaeology and folklore to their contemporary field signs in the wild. Derek Gow is a freelance ecologist who has worked with beavers and water voles in Britain for over 20 years. In characteristic punchy style, Derek Gow has given us the full saga of beaver reintroduction to the UK. In April 2014 Reaktion Books published his illustrated monograph on the iconography of the hedgehog and his later book Linescapes (2017) investigates the impact that the lines we make have on the capacity of wildlife to thrive. In our age of massive wildlife depletion, British lovers of nature have long been crying out for major change.

A hugely entertaining book about overcoming the human obstacles to the natural regeneration/nature self-healing we so desperately need on every square inch of the earth right now. If you’re somehow left thinking this is a lovely little story about a lady and her unkempt semiaquatic broad-tailed rodent, then perhaps you need to hear about the other stories in the series… Some of the other titles in the series include: Spank the Monkey Lends a Hand, Suzy Likes to Look at Balls, Put Tony’s Nuts in Your Mouth! She is the author of The Breathless Zoo: Taxidermy and the Cultures of Longing (2012) and has curated natural history exhibits for the Museum of Vancouver and the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at the University of British Columbia. He graduated from Newcastle University, where he learnt a bit about media and a lot about living without heating. It's part of a series of 'Reach Around Books' which are riddled with double entendres, meaning you can read to your children without being bored out of your mind.
