I’d always known how important the book was said to be, but until I first read it, I had no idea how delightful it is to sink into its luxurious sentences. Each to-find list includes pictographs and word labels to engage pre-readers and early readers alike. The train travels through India until stopping at the village of Kholby, where Fogg learns that, contrary to what was reported in the British press, the railroad is 50 miles (81 km) short of completion, and passengers are required to find their own way to Allahabad to resume the train trip. All three are real, historical figures and the comic-book-style sequences are taken from the surviving narratives of their adventures.
