About this deal

Immediately, they go from being excited about being on a reality show, to terrified about what the producer knows and what will happen when their secret is revealed on live television. Her will-they-won't-they-well-they-already-did-but-will-they-again relationship with English DS Leo Brady is also very believable and it's interesting to see how it plays out in the context of the investigation. All of them threaten to walk out, until Miles, the producer and creator of the show, points out that they have all signed contracts, with sufficiently robust but unread small print that means they are all trapped in the show. The book had many twists and turns and even though it dragged a little bit in some parts I still enjoyed it on the whole.

For me, this book had two parts: the first being catching up with Ffion, and seeing her work with her former friend/lover, Leo, on another investigation. The plot of A Game of Lies is a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns, with unexpected revelations that keep you on the edge of your seat. A Game of Lies is the second of Clare Mackintosh's series featuring North Wales police detective DC Ffion Morgan. I loved everything about this book - a brilliant, high-concept thriller with plot twists that made me gasp , and wonderful characters that had me laughing out loud and wincing in horror. A Game of Lies is book two in the DC Morgan series and it was so good being back in this space with the firey DC!With a fresh case and a brilliant cast of reality TV wannabes entering the Welsh mountains, the stage is set for another gripping mystery. I’m a big fan of Clare’s books, and when I heard that After Party would be followed on, I was looking forward to this. Detective Ffion Morgan has to put aside what she’s watched on screen, and find out who these people really are – knowing she can’t trust any of them.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed The Last Party earlier in the year, I'm so glad I got a chance to read this and what a book it was! Welke deelnemers zullen de anderen proberen te ontmaskeren terwijl ze geconfronteerd worden met hun grootste angsten? Stranded in the Welsh mountains, seven reality show contestants have no idea what they've signed up for.

It is a reality show and there are seven contestants involved and they have no clue what they have let themselves in for. Thank you NetGalley and (publisher, Little Brown Book Group) for sending this book for review consideration. This mystery’s pace takes a while to ramp up, but DC Ffion Morgan is ready with the Exposure that could cost her everything.

Although I haven’t read the first book of this series yet, I’ve had it for months just haven’t gotten around to reading it, I was able to read this one with no issue. Leo joins the team as the lead investigator, making things extra challenging for both Ffion and him.

Het leugenspel' is het tweede deel van de serie met Ffion Morgan in de hoofdrol, maar kan ook prima als losstaand deel gelezen worden. Mixed reviews that claim some readers didn't enjoy the mystery as much as the first book or couldn't connect with the reality show contest characters don't sway my five-star (rounded up from four and a half) rating. I PROMISE IT WON'T ALWAYS HURT LIKE THIS is a conversation about grief, based on my experiences of navigating bereavement following the loss of my son eighteen years ago. Let's not forget how, from the moment I read the first DC Morgan book, I fell in love with Cwm Coed, a small fishing town nestled between Wales and England.
