I always love a strong female lead, especially one who is performing in an area usually reserved for the macho male character. The Ransom is a well written and suspenseful kidnapping thriller with a little bit of romance threw in it.

A. This made her job infinitely easier than having to track down someone with a common name, like a Jane Smith or a Robert Jones. In the previous kidnappings, the wife had been taken while the husband was left drugged, tied up, but otherwise unharmed. It showed three men in hoodies and ski masks carrying Ashley, limp and apparently unconscious, out of the house. I had no difficulty at all reading this book with its American cultures etc - I simply enjoyed being in Nicole’s shoes as she solved the mystery. Yes, Nicole did make love with this character but there is no gritty, steamy sex scenes to read through.Boyarsky's weightless complications expertly combine menace with bling, making the heroine's adventures both nightmarish and dreamy. As evidence stacks up against Abigail, Nicole discovers that she herself has become the next target.
