The Makita LS1019 Sliding Compound Mitre Saw has a motor head which slides on fixed pipes without extending the machine at the rear end, so the machine can be placed close to a wall. Quick and accurate mitre angle lock – mitre angle can be locked or unlocked by simply turning the handle 90°. The LS1019 has a maximum mitre range of 60 degrees both left and right with positive stops at 0, 15, 22. The built-in laser indicates the line-of-cut whether the blade is turning or not, and offers micro-adjustments for precise “left-of-blade” or “right-of-blade” cutting. This mitre saw, which is available in either 110v or 230 volt versions, is ideal for using up against a wall due to the rather unique design where the rails that the saw slides on actually protrude towards the user rather than out the back of the saw, which is a common problem with more traditional sliding mitre saws.

The bevel lock is located in the front of the saw for easy access and quick adjustments from 0° to 48° (left and right). Rather than requiring space at the rear to accommodate the rails, the LS1019 fits perfectly on a workbench against a wall or confined spaces when working on site.
