About this deal

Retaining the same circuitry as the HM65R-T, the constant light output allows consistent brightness combined with long run times, lighting your way on the trails for extended periods without a battery change.

Unfortunately, the light can’t be positioned with this in a way that it’ll stay at some certain angle- that part rotates freely when disconnected from the strap. A Fenix ARB-L18-3500 mAh 18650 rechargeable battery is supplied and delivers maximum run times whatever the lighting modes in use. This battery is easy to swap for a spare simply by unscrewing the battery cap, keeping your adventure going indefinitely! day replacement: Fenix will replace identical or equal products with documented manufacturing defects within 15 days of purchase.

It’s hugely important to me to have a headlamp that will withstand some gnarly weather, provide me with multiple lighting options for various scenarios, and of course, last a long time without the need for a charge. If anything, it would be nice to have an even lower output than the 8 lumens; that’s still quite bright for some circumstances.

When I checked the battery level, one indicator light was on which shows that the battery level is %21-%40 according to Fenix operating instructions page. This lightweight and durable magnesium model is dedicated to trail running and boasts many features that give the growing field of competitive Trail and Ultra runners the lighting they need to tackle many hours in the dark. I used the Fenix HM65R-DT on various camping trips throughout the summer, though it most notably shined when completing a 6-day high-altitude trek in the Colombian Andes, as well as a 4-day trek along the Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trails in Iceland. Another point on unscrewing the tailcap – it’s difficult, due to how close the headband, etc is to the cap.It features a focus free perfectly balanced main beam with 5 brightness settings that reaches out up to168 meters whilst also generating a wide area flood light to safely light your surroundings. On the outer part of the headband there are reflective strips, which are excellent for enhanced visibility. Great to use this for daily vehicle inspections and a cheap right angle torch for clipping onto yourself (leaving your hands free). Please note that due to a global battery shortage the HM65R is now supplied with a 3400mAh 18650 battery in place of the original 3500. I like that you can carry extra batteries instead of relying on power banks for charging in the field.

While the “industrialized” naming system might work ok for their flashlights and bike lights, it doesn’t work well for the hiking/running community. Each torch includes the Fenix ARB-L18-3500 battery, USB Type-C charging cable, headband, headband mount, and a spare o-ring. The Fenix HM65R-DT headlamp was primarily designed for trail runners looking for swift and hands-free lighting during high-intensity trail runs. Why it didn’t act as it’s said on its official web page “In charging process, one indicator flashes: below 20%, one constant-on and one flashes: 21%-50%, two constant-on and one flashes: 51%-80%, three constant-on and one flashes: 81% – 95%, four constant-on: charging complete. It's worth studying the lumens versus duration graphs to find your best setting, especially if you will be using it for long periods between charges. The turbo setting is excellent for moving about safely at night on rough uneven rock surfaces, although the High setting is quite adequate for this. The red light is very usable at all settings for reading through to keeping you on the path at night if you don’t want the brightness of the white light. Combined with long runtimes and a reliable construction, the head torch is ideal for mountain climbing, trail running, camping and cycling.

With updated circuitry, the Trail edition features constant light output giving consistent brightness combined with long run times, lighting your way on the trails for extended periods without a battery change. It doesn’t make a massive difference, but it is worth mentioning so you don’t think your headlamp is malfunctioning.Simply lift the dust cover and plug in the USB Type-C cable at one end and plug the standard US-A end into a USB port or a USB adaptor. The lamp is constructed from ultra-lightweight magnesium material and is fully waterproof and shock resistant.
