Description

The characters are mainly likeable in the whole, although I actually prefer the secondary characters to Lesley - she can come across as rude and a big city know it all, whereas the rest of the team are much more likeable. The Monument Murders is the fourth instalment in the bestselling Dorset Crime series, essential reading for everyone who loves Dorset… and gripping crime novels. Mr Green had hosted a party at his home on the weekend before he died, which made the investigation difficult due to the number of fingerprints at the scene. The “Dorset Crime” series of novels are compelling character driven mystery novels about the life and times of Lesley Clarke, a Detective Crime Inspector. Meanwhile, one of Lesley's team has been arrested, accused of murdering his former boss, but Lesley is convinced he hi innocent.

The main character is very like Helen Mitten in Prime Susoect and hopefully the personality will fill out in future books in this Dorset crime series. The stories are good, though maybe a tad unrealistic at times, but you can give the author creative licence as it is fiction after all! The Corfe Castle Murders is a compelling, character-driven mystery perfect for fans of Ann Cleeves, LJ Ross, and Elly Griffiths.Detective Chief Inspector Jez Noyce, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), told the Daily Echo: “We will continue to thoroughly investigate any new lines of enquiry that emerge and all unsolved murder cases where there are no active lines of enquiry will still be subject to periodic reviews by Dorset Police. A man was charged after her body was found a year later, but the case remains on file after his conviction for similar offences. DCI Lesley Clarke has promised her new wife that their Scottish honeymoon won’t be spoiled by murder investigations. Marie Hall, former servant to Richard Parmitter, recounts that Parmitter was frequently abusive towards his wife. Product Disclaimer: Kindly be informed that, owing to the inherent nature of leather as a natural material, minor discolorations or textural variations may be perceptible. They are really easy reads with interesting characters and fantastic storylines with all the usual twists and turns that make a good crime novel. Can she get along with her new partner DS Dennis Frampton, a traditionalist who doesn’t appreciate her style?SAMUEL WILLIAMSON: Samuel Williamson was killed and his body set alight in Cotlands Road, Bournemouth, in August 1988.

It was almost like a two for one, with both DCI Lesley Clarke and DI Zoe Finch working together again. Rachel McLean is the winner of the 2021 Kindle Storyteller Award, which she won when she published “The Corfe Castle Murders” of the “Dorset Crime” series. DCI Lesley Clarke from the Zoe Finch series moves down to Dorset and starts her first murder investigation on the south coast when she hears someone find a body at an archeological dig in the village of Corte Castle the afternoon before her first day.STANLEY BLACKMOOR: On August 10 1962, taxi driver Stanley Blackmoor was found stabbed to death in Yetminster.

Despite huge advances in investigative techniques there have been no recent breakthroughs in relation to the killings. The perpetrators are thought to have made away with a ‘ffiftie pound bag’ with five pounds in it, some ‘writings’, a gold ring worth 40 shillings and other rings and pearls. Here, you'll discover not just the publication year, which is essential for understanding the context and evolution of the series, but also a succinct summary that teases the story without spoiling any surprises.Unfortunately, we do not know what became of Parmiter and Berryman or whether they were found guilty of the crime. If you like simple easy reads then this series is for you, esp if you have kindle unlimited as a good series to borrow!
