The plot is fantastic and well written, and these characters are amazingly developed with a well written back story. Having subsequently read Bob Wyatt's description, it seems one reason he came up with this duster variant, which could be fished as a simple alternative to his DHE, was for lazy beggars like me.

For now they've nigh on replaced DHE's and Klinks in my box, although I will need to sit at the vice at some point and be slightly less lazy I guess.

I’m also not sure if this was intentional, but Jaine seemed to be the main heroine in this story rather than Sarah. Cillian at 34, the soldier of the family whose inner monologue drips in dry sarcasm during each of his POV chapters. What an emotional book, I loved that we got more information about what past characters are doing and how she included them in this book. Seemingly complete opposites, Dylan and Jessie find out they are more alike than they thought when they are forced into lockdown.I hoped to like Eoin more but my feels are still a burning inferno and I am not sure how I will deal with a whole book on his story as currently I don't want a hea for him 🤣. Gladys, Olive and Elsie are three “vintage style” cleaning ladies who, threatened with redundancy, chance on an ‘unconventional’ way of earning some extra cash. Sarah's instincts kick in and she will do whatever it takes to protect the children who have been kidnapped. He is the quietest of the O'Connell brothers but has a huge heart and even tried to help Paddy overcome a heartbreak even if it meant he could miss his own chance at love. At the end of each book I think yep that was my favourite until I start the next one but I really did enjoy Eoin and Jane’s story.
