About this deal

I hope to be able to share the gift of this book with many friends and family as the year progresses. The author describes the advantages and disadvantages of different kind of intermittent fasting well, worked out through her own reading and experience, some of which echo my own. There is an excellent part of the book, eschewing sweeteners like Splenda, explaining why they aren't useful for weight loss.

I've been a member of the facebook group of same title and I kept hearing "read the book; just read the book; read Gin's book" to every question that was asked on the page. If you consider it a lifestyle you understand that some days you are "on point" with your desired schedule and some days - not so much.

Unfortunately, the body releases insulin whenever you taste something that suggests you may be eating. The “ rip off the band-aid” is the most drastic approach to intermittent fasting that throws you right in at the deep end.

If you have been struggling with not being able to lose weight, you have a tire around your belly, you can't eat a lot of foods because they are inflammatory, you feel fatigued all the time, you feel like you are not thinking as clearly as you should. You won’t have to be restrictive and give up whole food groups forever, and you won’t have to skip social occasions and stop eating nice food!Less scientific than The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss, which changed my life, but had some real practical gems that I'm going to implement. I also appreciate that she lost 80 pounds and at the time of the writing had kept it off for two years. Also, over and over on the FB group, people say you don't have to count calories or restrict what you eat during your window.

Here, you’ll start with a six-hour eating window right away and reduce it to four hours by the end of the month. Gin Stephens has written a combination memoir, self-help book for those wanting to lose weight while eating whatever they want. This is the goal: to be in a place where you are listening to satiety signals and you are not fasting through sheer willpower alone.Fung) so this book is essentially a long discussion of how it has worked for her, with a long addendum of what hasn’t worked for her. I was hoping to avoid “clean” fasts because I love cream in my coffee but the OMAD lifestyle is so delightful I have been able to jump start the weight loss by avoiding all calories before around 3:30-4:00 each day.

This book introduced me to an eating lifestyle that doesn't leave me feeling deprived or guilty for indulging. For example, if you drink fruit-flavored water or a diet soda, you will release insulin, even if it has no calories. I started losing weight within about a week but it's a slow process (as it should) so don't expect miracles.
