The BirdieBall is about half the weight of a golf ball, but its non-aerodynamic shape before it’s hit, causes you to feel resistance on the club head-this makes it feel like a golf ball on impact. Birdie Balls are roughly the size of a standard golf ball, though a lot lighter and less hazardous on people, pets, and the neighbor’s house. The material used to construct the BirdieBall is a hard PVC like material, capable of withstanding repeated impact. I knew this because I was actually leaving putts short from about 10-12 feet, which is something I have never done on any kind of indoor surface. I admit, after my teaching pro mentioned them as a viable alternative to pounding range balls, I was skeptical.

I played with them exclusively in my yard, which at two acres gives plenty of room to test the claimed range. If you are looking for accurate speed and spin data on a launch monitor, the foam balls are probably a better choice.When I learned the Birdie Ball had earned the “Best New Product” at the PGA Merchandise Show, I was impressed. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. The Birdieball jumps off the clubface with a very similar ball speed to a golf ball but it’s also trying to stop the second you hit it. The main negative that keeps my rating from being at least a 7 instead of a 5 is the putting surface. It’s branded with the BirdieBall logo and makes it easy to clear your green and keep it rolling true. Since this purchase in 2011 I have probably purchased four dozen of these babies - I just love them. Each golf club can use these practice golf balls thanks to their limited flight distance characteristics.They have invented an indoor putting matt that can be customized to various sizes, and more importantly different speeds. These limited flight practice balls mimic real golf balls as if you’re on the driving range with one big catch. This is something I’ve never seen in a putting green and one of the many ways it separates itself from competitors. When they arrived, which took far longer than it should have, I immediately took them outside for a few test hits in my yard. Unless you’re someone who gets to play exclusive clubs with superfast greens, this will likely be too fast.
