It was clearly designed by someone who knows synthesizers and uses them, and wanted to build something they would enjoy to use. and there are other areas of the synth when setting up vibrato modulations where this unmusical range is unable to be tweaked down to more subtle levels. You would generally be requested to enter the supplied activation code to activate the software and allow you to use the software on your specified computer or laptop. Something like Plogue Chipsynth MD should have pretty much the same sound as the Korg 707 (although not exactly the same because it's emulating a different DAC - I usually say DACs aren't that important, but it's important here because the DACs in these cases are terrible). I find myself using the FM mutant a lot and Wave Stack (in limited amounts, always sounds trashy from very early in the pot).

The modulation section is equipped with a comprehensive Mod Matrix, five LFOs, and five loopable DAHDSR envelopes with definable Curve and BPM value for each segment. You might expect that just eight waves couldn't compare with the longer tables of older synths, but in practice I didn't find this to be the case. There are a few crucial things about the UI that aren't immediately apparent from the front panel alone, so you've got to read the manual no matter what. Without knowing that the eight mini-displays are macro-controls when you play a present, but that as soon as you hit a dedicated module button to change a parameter, that you've left macro mode for edit mode, well, a lot of confusion can arise. If you are pondering applications for such glacial shifts, another parameter might offer clues: Freerun.Potential uses include shaving the excesses from the first filter or, when connected in parallel, applying completely different filtering to selected sources. The second filter is a 12db per octave has a continuous sweep from Low pass to bandpass to high pass, similar to the way the classic SEM filter worked.

The second filter is a 12db per octave has a continuous sweep from either low pass > bandpass >high pass or low pass > notch > high pass, similar to the way the classic SEM filter worked. And they did launch a Deluxe version, which by what I read, looks like didn't really address any of the major problems. Their polyphonic pressure implementation is pretty thorough, and includes user tailoring of parameters such as delay, onset time, fade and release, to reduce bounce, jitter and so on.It can reach parts of the synth not always open to modulation, such as the effects, arpeggiator parameters, envelope stages and even the levels of other slots, with only a few omissions as of the current firmware (such as Glide and envelope shapes). Standard PWM is on hand too, as well as 'Sqeez', a weird 'squash the waveform sideways' alternative. The first filter has 16 different filter models, giving you multiple options for tailoring your sound.

Pads are excellent - I frequently found myself using them over the Keystep Pro that I had plugged into the HSD.The VOICE parameters give you access to play modes, analogue feel, voice panning and many other features. It's a "wave shaping" synth, yet I end up using the VA base waveforms way more than the weird wave tables. Each stage of the envelope is able to sweep through exponential and logarithmic curves, which paves the way for vast creative opportunity with evolving modulations. There could be a number of reasons for this, including the filter modelling, effects, and analogue-like touches such as filter drive and the Analog Warm parameter, which unsurprisingly dials in analogue-style warmth.
