Description

Its massive twin toroidal power transformers feature MOH cores for maximum efficiency, with bifilar windings directing pure, continuous power to each of the eight stereo amplifier modules. Quick-response opto-coupled output protection on each channel prevents failures caused by speaker line faults or signal spikes, providing exceptional dependability with no compromise to sound quality. In fact the quality of these optics is better than many modern binoculars, particularly chinese consumer models, which seem to have no quality control and frankly very poor optics. The Stoat is generally brown with white under but goes all -white in the winter except for the tail which is black as if dipped in ink. The extra check of reading the current status helps protect against false positives or unexpected behavior if an external user hits the override button manually first.

It conveniently can be broken down into the eight output modules (which each have onboard rectifier and caps) and the two transformers. Furthermore Ross surprisingly to me made some of their own glass and shall we say the quality 'varied', i. Some resoldering later, and now we have a cable with “left” output wired to pin 2, “right” output to pin 3, and ground remains connected to pin 1.

Given all the protection and diagnostics this board is capable of, I wanted to keep it intact as much as possible. Looking through the big ends first ( which shows any internal faults, including muck, mold and fingerprints ), I saw that one of the prisms was shattered! The bulk of this amp is the two massive toroidal transformers upfront, and then the 8 massive amplifier boards that each power two channels. The Americans inadvertently gave away their quality control techniques to the Japanese when they had some of their Korean War military equipment manufactured in Japan.

Note that I chose to modify channel A on this board which is the Left channel to stay with the convention of having the Right channel be the positive side of the bridged amplifier. But now with the Crestron in the mix I was using the unbalanced outputs from the XMC-1 for the surround speakers, and the interference was back with a vengeance. All told, that’s 11 channels of amplification taking up 11U of space on my rack, for 10 items needing power. The addon board is then soldered to the back side of the amplifier board using 4 header pins (which happen to align close enough to work well).I also looked at the full moon when it was rising, (and not so bright), and the view was way better then at 12x power ! The Pentax have good color rendition and clarity, but show an objectionable amount of ghosting and flare on bright objects such as Jupiter. The Moon looked good earlier when looked at briefly, lots of detail but some small limb false colour. The Emotiva XMC-1 processor has 12V trigger output, so when I turn that on or off, the amps in my stack follow suit now. I know this is an old post, but I wanted to update my inquiry from a few months ago asking if I can use XLR->dual-RCA splitters from my pre-amp (Yamaha CX-A5100) directly into the 16x60 amp to achieve bridged channels without any sort of adapter or modifications to the amp - and the answer is YES!

This picture shows the green board version of a 16x60 board which was my prototype where the yellow board version has a slightly different layout and component naming. And because they are relatively light, they work wonderfully well with my cheap fluid-pan head tripod, which my other heavier binoculars did not( i.
