There had been a big improvement using the Art-DJ unit compared to my old Behringer pre-amp, or the turntable’s built-in preamp, but together, with the Art-DJ and VanDamme lead together, records sound so much better.

VTA was way out so I fitted a Vibrostop mat on top of the thin disco one that was supplied, perfect. The base is quite interesting as it appears that it must be a generic one used on other OEM decks - there are 5 holes marked for speed adjustment but none is available on the L-3808.
