It has a lovely amber colour and the spice really amplifies the intensity of the rum whilst bringing out a sweetness. I think with entrepreneurship you’re like a firefighter, you’re constantly putting out fires, small or big.Using a blend of white rums from Barbados and Jamaica, Las Olas combines quality, raw ingredients such as vanilla, gold cherry and roasted coffee beans to create a smooth yet zingy and fresh finish that can be sipped on the rocks or added to cocktails of your choice. Over the past couple of decades, the quality – and range – of rums available here has at last caught up with the likes of whisky and brandy. Las Olas is a premium blend of unaged pot still white rums from Barbados and Jamaica, which is then spiced in the UK. spiced only with natural and vegan ingredients and brought together by a cold, low and slow maceration process. The team didn’t cut corners here and even delayed the launch to make sure that it was of the best quality.

Following this, we visited Jamaica, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize and studied the different methods, ingredients and what rum really meant to those living in these countries. I’m going to sound mad geeky here but the top is my favourite part of the design with its flat top and extended lip allowing for a seamless pour.It took me a minute to put my finger on the smell but I’ve concluded that it has a whiff of Christmas pudding… the good, rich nutty (and more importantly) alcoholic pudding!
