That's why I think they needed more of a solid foundation; there needed to be more time spent on them actually falling. Thrown together in a contractual public relationship, the original plan was to help each other in their careers. R. stunt, their publicists concoct a plan to hook the two up in a “fake relationship” guaranteed to light up the Hollywood gossip ghouls!

It's the kind of book that's going to linger on my mind for awhile, and I'm curious to see how I feel about it months from now. Ava Wilder’s highly anticipated debut novel is a full fledged romance/women’s fiction novel about relationships, love, self doubt, dealing with past traumas and so much more.Currently jobless, and never leaving her couch for social interaction, she gets set up for the fake dating publicity stunt with the older and out of work for five years, big show-stopping star of her teenage years, Ethan. With a life-changing role on the line, she’s finally desperate enough to agree to her publicist’s scheme… faking a love affair with a disgraced Hollywood heartthrob who needs the publicity, but for very different reasons. He doesn’t think this game relationship nonsense will work, but he changes his mind once he meets/talks to Grey and realizes she’s a lot more savvy than her age belies.

The cover caught my eye, but it was the significant buzz surrounding this Hollywood romance that had me excited to read it. Seriously, you are 40 years old, you have two young children, hold yourself accountable and get your shit together for the love of god. But that heaviness is also what gives the story such weight; I really loved that it was completely unexpected, and the tone felt very original. Soon, the couple made it red carpet official by attending one of Brooks's former 𝘗𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘦 co-star's movie premiere together. Wilder's cinematic prose brings Grey and Ethan to life, and she sets their raw, sensitive love story against an alluring portrait of Hollywood glamour.I thought this might just be a lighthearted romance but there was a lot of depth, and I enjoyed this one! That part of the story felt rushed to me, and I wouldn't have complained about a slightly longer length. and discover that their feelings might be more than a PR stunt in this sexy debut for fans of Beach Read and The Unhoneymooners.

It might get a little messy between them but I liked how things resolved; the grovelling and acceptance, and the little peak into their future too.As for Grey, I liked her at first and all throughout the book, but whenever she was with Ethan, both of their characters were extremely toxic for each other.
