Turkish Hammam Soaps are a type of soap that is unique to the Turkish culture and carries a long history. Launched in 1931 as a ‘mild, family soap’, Hamam soon drew a large natural following long before it was trendy or fashionable to use products with natural ingredients. The soap's free alkaline content (caustic that does not react with the oil during saponification) is lost during the slow reaction with air.
