About this deal

Even if I finish getting ready for a night out early I'd rather go and get myself a drink than sit with an eyelash curler! I feel silly saying that about a mascara haha but I HATE eyelash curlers, I’m a bit scared of them (i. inside but I still do a quick manual scrape now and then just to avoid too much excess on the brush. In general, I find mascara heavy, that it irritates my eyes, that it’s a pain to remove… and for all that, it doesn’t even make that much of a difference to how my face looks.

If you follow my Instagram then you already know I got my hands on an early tube of it… I bet you all can imagine my YAASSSS when the package with this promising new eyelash potion arrived. The mascara also has a ‘wand wiper’ built in which is meant to ensure that the brush doesn’t have too much product so that the eyelashes can be separated easily. I really like the roller lash and I'd seen the Maybelline mascara on the shelf but I didn't take a close look at it, I didn't know it was a potential dupe! Since the Roller Lash brush is smaller than your average mascara wand, allowing it to manoeuvre pretty effortlessly around your eyes, and latches itself onto your lashes with an almost magnetic force, I found this to be one of the easiest mascaras I’ve ever used; it manages to grab onto your lashes so intuitively that you barely need a mirror to apply it, and Benefit has even designed the tube with an in-built “wand wiper” that gets rid of excess product (a definite plus as the formula is on the wet side).Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara has an eye opening “Hook ‘n’ Roll” brush which is meant to grab, separate, curl and set. Best mascara Recently switched from the classic They're Real to the Roller Lash mainly because of the extra goodness in the liquid of the mascara + brush shape. oz UNBOXED About the Brand: BENEFIT All American cosmetics brand Benefit was founded in 1976 by twins Jean and Jane Ford. The eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll™ brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls…while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours. It's a rubber wand that comes in Benefit's innovative Hook 'n' Roll shape - a skinny curved wand with many tiny hooks as teeth (sounds quite scary, tbh).

You can 'up the ante' on the volume front by adding extra coats carefully or going over with a volumising mascara - makes the lashes pop!The brush is made from rubber and has tiny hooks, just like the ones on hair rollers, that are designed to lift the lashes at the base and force them to curl upwards.

It really lengthened my lashes, more than any other mascara I have EVER used; like crazy extreme length. Great comparison Jasmine :) Looking at both your after pictures, the finished result is pretty much the same so I would absolutely save on this product too! Which makes me feel even better about my purchase (since I've been trying to transition to ethical products as of late). However, a lot of people have been turned off this mascara because it is so incredibly hard to remove, so much so that Benefit had to release a special eye make up remover, They’re Real! A little wiggle here, a swift swipe there, and it’s hello to inky-black, defined and clump-free lashes quicker than you can say, “Here come the curls”. As you can see from my before/after pictures, it makes such a gorgeous difference and brings out my natural lashes beautifully!

This mascara looks right up my alley, I'll definitely be checking it out if/when it comes to Australia. The wands are very similar; the Benefit wand is a little thinner but I didn't find applying one or the other any more difficult to work with. No doubt I really like how it curls my lashes and make them stay that way for a long period of time. Thanks to Elle, the World’s best-selling fashion magazine, I was able to exclusively try Benefit Cosmetics brand new Roller Lash mascara this month! Well, these are like flexy mini-combs that twirl through and grab even baby lashes to deposit the formula *while separating and lifting* as you draw it up and out.
