The stand doesn’t allow for swiveling or pivoting, and its HDR brightness isn’t bright enough for a true cinematic experience. Other gaming-oriented features like Dynamic Action Sync, to reduce input lag, Black Stabilizer, to improve clarity in darker areas, and a crosshair overlay, to elevate you aiming to the next level, are included. Also, using the sRGB mode locks out a few picture settings, including the Response Time, Black Stabilizer, and Color Temp, so if you want more customizable settings, you'll need to use a picture mode that's less accurate. In addition, a super-fast 1ms response time reduces motion blur to the absolute minimum, and this allows for super smooth transitions, especially during fast-action scenes. Certainly, productivity is unlikely the reason you’re investing in the UltraGear 34GP83A-B – it’s a gaming monitor after all.

However, the Dell delivers a better HDR experience due to its wider color gamut and higher peak brightness. The color temperature is close to the 6500K target, and gamma follows the target well for the most part, but most scenes are too bright. It's well-suited for bright rooms because it overcomes glare easily, but it isn't ideal for dark rooms due to its low contrast ratio. As mentioned earlier, this is a great monitor that you can use for work; but with DCI-P3 98% color gamut support, it is also a perfect option for photographers and video editors, for who accurate color reproduction is all-important.

difference at the moment (Prime Day deal on the 34GP83A-B) might not be worth a slightly higher OC refresh rate G-Sync Ultimate vs regular G-Sync, and upgrading HDR 600 from HDR 400. I'll be honest, I can't figure out what the different is between the LG 34GP83A-B and the LG 34GN850-B (I know the 34GP83A-B says it's 160Hz vs 144Hz for the 34GN850-B, but the 34GP83A-B previously said 144Hz, and I think 160Hz is only if you overclock it).

Intro: The LG 34GP83A-B is a mid-tier ultrawide gaming monitor that was announced in 2020, with a pledge to deliver an immersive gaming experience. In addition to the above, this monitor also comes with Dynamic Action Sync, Black Stabilizer, Crosshair, as well as OnScreen Control. The 34GP950G has a local dimming feature, but it's pretty bad, so this doesn't add much over the 34GP83A-B.

Available since 2020, the LG UltraGear 34GP83A-B is a WQHD curved gaming monitor with 144 hz standard refresh rate (160 Hz overclock) compliant with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 specifications, also sporting both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium support.
