My heart ached while reading how Alessandra had felt for years, and how broken Dominic was when he realized he lost the only person that believed in him. With its intricate plot, well-developed characters, and insightful exploration of human greed, this book offers readers a thrilling and thought-provoking experience. We delude ourselves to be highly rational beings who are in full control of these things, but it's such a preposterous belief, it's laughable.

There are several flashbacks throughout this book, and they give us some great insight into both characters, but especially Dominic’s upbringing. Her books have been sold to over two dozen foreign publishers for translation and featured in outlets such as NPR, Cosmopolitan, Financial Times, and Glamour UK. Loved all the cameos from the other kings but felt Josh and Jules cameo was unnecessary, didn’t added anything to the story and was included for the sake of it which was a bit disappointing.Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. The important part is that Dominic shows up, and he does that time and time again—though it’s going to take a while for Alessandra to trust that this is his new normal rather than just a sidestep to get her back. Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure.

I’m also a sucker for opposites-attract, and it’s a lot of fun when the MMC is the uptight one who’s shown a good time by the FMC.
