Geraldine decides Fran should try and find out what happened to her daughter Jenna as she doesn’t believe it could of been a suicide. Special thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions. I enjoyed the silent battle between Kate and Fran as neither of them trusted the other, the chapters written from their points of view revealing their innermost feelings. An average read overall, but there was just nothing unique enough to make it stand out from every other domestic noir.

You keep asking yourself as you observe several counseling sessions of these health gurus: are they conmen or are they really talented soul shakers who help the people get through their mental problems? Two years ago, Jenna went missing at a wellness retreat run by Tom, the charismatic man behind the Soul Shrink retreats.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those who like mysteries and domestic suspense. Fran's quirky character was well developed and I enjoyed the supporting characters of the other wellness retreat attendees.

While sister’s dynamics usually interest me, having a sister myself, I simply couldn’t like it here. While I did eventually worked out how it would play out, it was still shocking and the explanation took me completely by surprise.

There was an astonishing lack of communication and Fran was very selfish not trying to connect with Jenna growing up.He has just been released from prison after serving time for the deaths of two individuals who attended the same retreat where Jenna went disappeared. They have been translated into over 25 languages, selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club, and optioned for television.

I think it is because of the great writing style of the author that something that usually bothers me, here worked so well for me.

As I have found with all of her books, I was desperate to keep turning the pages once I got to the end of each chapter. I love it when I'm not able to figure out all the twists and turns before the author reveals them and this book delivered! This is an interesting story about Fran who wants to discover what happened to her sister a few years ago.
