My now ex-girlfriend smelt this on me for the first time two days ago and instantly thought it was a Fall scent without me saying it was. I don't see the point in making a fragrance if it doesn't perform well, and the greed these company's show by reformulating and watering down former powerhouses.

Never really been much of a fragrance guy, my first cologne being a gift, but this made me turn around. Vanilla/Leather/Iris being the most prominent notes, interchanging, depending on the temperature I'd say. HM Shot is really a nice casual and inoffensive cool weather scent that performs reasonably well (lasts a solid 4-6 hrs). While it may share the leather and iris aspect with the likes of the Dior Homme's of the world (which is one of my favorites! The dry down of woods, leather, resins and left-over alcoholic party drinks has a touch of Armani Code (original) and Carolina Herrera VIP Club.I've tried all of the L'Homme and La Nuit De L'Homme flankers over the years, and this holds its own against any of them - Bleu Electrique included. The iris gives it a bit of a powdery feel, and is nothing like the lipsticky iris of the Dior Homme line, while cardamom and vanilla give it a certain sensuality.

If you exclude its alcoholic opening (where I can smell nothing for around 5 minutes) then beautiful Iris, rich vanilla, spicy pepper and cardamom. I love a bit of hype and always chasing a sample down so I have zero regrets and actually enjoy that process of testing fragrances going by lots of positive reviews on fragrantica.Performance is unfortunately well below average like all perfumes currently out there (or most of them). The daiquiri notes mixed with the cardamom give it a boozy, dark and sexy vibe that can more easily be described as somewhat of a mix of scents like CH Men Privé and YSL La Nuit de L'Homme. The sillage is moderate to big, although this isnt saying much since I feel bad for anybody who has to smell this stuff. This smells great when you first put it on it has a definitely get the cardamon and black pepper and then you get the hint of that lemon.
