DMT’s propriety knit technology is not only truly revolutionary, but features across their full range, all the way from the highest level down to their entry level models. Shining a light through the bottom with the insoles removed, only two holes were passing light in one shoe while 4 were passing light on the other shoe.

Adjustment is via single Boa dial, which allows for incremental adjustment and has a quick-release function that makes them easy to take off. There isn’t even a separate tongue, with enough stretch in the opening and a puller tab to allow you to pull the shoes on with ease. The fit is about as perfect as the best road cycling shoes can be, with the knit upper conforming superbly and the Boa IP1 taking up any of the slack across the forefoot. With a firm, stiff carbon sole matched to incredible flexibility and comfort in the upper, they are a great option for riders who may previously have struggled for comfort, or for riders who suffer from hot feet issues.

I can get slight flex while walking on concrete and bearing my weight on one foot, but not while riding. This is the ideal shoe for you if you are looking for an incredibly lightweight and breathable road shoe, with a premium carbon sole. Closure uses a single Boa IP1 dial, with the wire passing through a second set of cable guides over the forefoot, which augments the clean looks. Dialling up the tightness to avoid my foot slipping around meant that, with the single Boa dial, most of the pressure was over my midfoot, while the front of the shoe was still not very tight and the uppers rucked up slightly side to side. Superfeet yellow insoles vastly improved the comfort, but when high-end shoes from the likes of Shimano, Specialized, Giro and Rapha come with various comfort-tuning options included, the KR3s' sparseness disappoints.

All Goods must be unused, in a saleable condition and in their original packaging with all labels still attached.Where I would recommend them, however, is on warm days, particularly ones that involve plenty of climbing. The carbon sole has a replaceable heel bumper for a bit of walking protection, but I would like to have seen something on the toe to protect the glossy carbon sole from scrapes too.
