This product is described as a dewy glow foundation with SPF29, designed to give a fresh, natural and lightweight finish.

So to begin with, I have very normal, combination skin – gets oily throughout the day in my t-zone and is sometimes dry on my cheeks depending on the season and the skincare I’m currently using. It looks a lot less dense and the pores are bigger which is why more of the liquid foundation tends to sit on the surface of the cushion when you first use it, rather than be absorbed within it. Brands like MAC and YSL are launching cushion foundations, and Yves Rocher has also started offering a one (the Pure Light cushion foundation). The sponge applicator makes it easy to build up coverage where needed, and I had no issue creating an even canvas for my makeup. The packaging for the foundation is very simple and fuss free, something that makes me fall in love even more with L'Oreal as a brand.After tons of hype from the US about the new Cushion foundations, they finally landed in the UK last month. Once you’ve used blotting sheets or translucent powder your foundation goes back to looking as wonderful as the first application. You can’t even really tell you have coverage; it doesn’t have that HD pore/skin blurring effect, it just evens out your skin tone and gives a smoother complexion.

The main difference I have noticed actually shows in the long run – cheaper foundations tend to break out my skin, irritate it and occasionally make it flaky + clog pores. Really great foundation, i have oily skin and it doesn't turn me into an oil slick and it actually goes light enough for my incredibly pale skin!

I’ve also realised the the foundation takes atlas 10-15 minutes to settle into the skin, so bare that in mind when powdering.

This sounds like a fair enough statement – as I rotate my foundations so often, I cannot really judge the more long-term impact (and I guess it would be diluted anyway). Obviously it’s less than hygienic because I’m not too sure if you would wash the sponge but for now, I love it. I have a chanel (vitalumiere aqua) and YSL foundations and always at least one cheaper one on rotation.
