About this deal

You have to screw it on real tight right up to the bottom lip of the thread of the fuel canister just to achieve a closed seal so no fuel escapes.

I almost always get a question or two when I fish it out of my pack and fire it up in front of friends or passersby (I do a lot of adventure picnicking in the parks near me), and I’m sure you have some of the same questions.I bought the Ti-Goat set that has the modified BRS3000T but bought a plain BRS 3000T too, and with the riser disk, I think the regular BRS3000T works better.

Using a quality piece of kit that I feel safe using is a better option for me than a cheaper stove where I’m left wondering when it’s going to fail on me. Remember to be careful shielding your fuel canister stove in the wind so you don't trap all the heat on the fuel canister.Primus Express stove in the same conditions boils a bit faster: 2 cups of water in about 2'15" which I attribute to a larger burner size. On one particularly windy island camping trip I discovered that the bushbox could be set upside on top of the BRS-3000T making a very effective windscreen. I did fill an evernew 900ml pot to the 25oz mark took the stove outside and ran it for 30 minutes this afternoon.

I hired a little car, a Fiat Panda, which I travelled around to all the ancient sights in, and slept in for the duration of the holiday. If I’m on top of my camp chores, by the time the water comes to a boil, I’ve set up my tent and am waiting expectantly to pour boiling water into my dehydrated meal of choice. I have some old mountainmen/cavemen buddies that think nothing of taking new gear into the mountains without prior setup or testing, and it drives me crazy every time. I do the annual maintenance on my MSR liquid stoves using the maintenance parts kit, have a drawer full of o-rings for the fuel bottles that attach to my MSR liquid stoves (WhisperLite and DragonFly), and another drawer full of gaskets for my Svea 123 fuel cap. It is only in recent times, with drier summers and occasional fire bans, that meths stoves have been progressively less acceptable to the authorities and others and a switch back to gas stoves is almost a recommendation. Three Points of the Compass dives into the history of a post box originally destined for overseas but instead found its way on to British streets.

The Soto Windmaster can be better regulated and my preference will always fall with it if I’m cooking my own home-made meals. Modern small canister stoves weigh between 1 and 4 ounces, and our testers think this isn't the most productive place for backpackers to shed weight. In case you’re unfamiliar with what a pressure regulator does, it keeps the flame consistent despite the pressure in the canister. Some users have reported that the supports can soften as a result with disastrous results however this has never been personally experienced.
