During the application process, I found the ARCTIC MX-5 to flow a little faster than I thought it would, but overall, it was not runny enough to become a concern.

Arctic's MX-5 thermal grease is comprised of aluminum oxide, aluminum powder, aluminum nitride, polydimethylsiloxane, magnesium oxide and boron nitride. Could use the spread method which people have been recommending with this paste, but i have terrible spread uniformity so gave up on that and im quite happy with the current temps.

This is not an ideal solution, as you usually need to use the paste right away, but at least it’s not money thrown out the window. Some mention that it spreads easily and cools very well, while others say that it's a lot harder to spread and get an equal level, and that the very thick paste doesn't spread well. Ideally, we would have wanted to do 3 tests as a minimum for a single thermal paste and showing the average of these three runs but due to my poor health condition, one test result is shown.

We were able to find the mixture of substances used in the MX-5 as can be seen in the above picture. Arctic has also assessed this as a critical condition and no longer supplies such problematic pastes. Ultimately, the decision among the MX-4, MX-5, and MX-6 hinges on the specific requirements and priorities of the user.
