This is not bright and uplifting given the name, it's more like a dark spooky lemon scent if that makes sense. Patchouli, oud, vetiver and leather make the comrade seem quite masculine, which is why I'm a little surprised that this is supposed to be a unisex scent. This doesn’t mean it is a weak scent at all but is something to be considered if you want a strong-performing perfume.

On third try I was starting to feel there was something interesting in the otherwise horrible scent. Presently, this lovely, natural-smelling opening gave way to a chemical nightmare that smells something like a mixture of Lysol, Lemon Pledge, and a powdery, leathery amber. Agree with most reviews, nothing in this fragrance smells natural, but that is not a bad thing in this case. The almond cream does remind me a slight bit of L’Homme Ideal but, I prefer L’Homme Ideal for the night whereas this is purely for the day!As a fan of Mancera fragrances, I've come to take the titles of their fragrances with a grain of salt. I get the mint citrusy facet with an accord of lavender though not listed or something that gives off a clean linen vibe. I blindly got this based on suggestions by Demi Rawling and i have to admit that at first it did not appeal to me. Mancera aoud lemon mint and Mancera cedrat boise are my first niche fragrances and they both really suprised me.

This way, you can check out if a particular fragrance is worth checking out, and potentially find your signature perfume. Going in the opposite direction of traditionally heavy oud-based fragrances, the lemon influence lightens it up just enough to make it extremely wearable yet still carry the longevity we love in oud-forward fragrances. It does not look synthetic, but very round, woody resinous, only slightly dirty and therefore darkens the fragrance a little. As far as its gender, Aoud Lemon Mint is one of those perfumes that feels totally unisex to me, but completely and better suited for men.

I see it suitable for fall and spring(could potentially work in some warmer winter days also), as it has some freshness that's balanced by a thick woody, vetiver and vanillic base.

My first mancera and its definitely a much to love fragrance that has a lot of complexity and uniqueness to it. It was the consensus of everyone in my house (wife, daughters, myself) that this fragrance was feminine. The only thing I would wish is that is was a touch less sweet in the opening couple of hours but other than that, it's almost perfect.

Nevertheless, Aoud Lemon Mint is a very successful, unusual fragrance, which I consider most suitable for spring and autumn. Unlike usual, there is no rose and no saffron in Aoud Lemon Mint, but strangely enough no mint either. Perfumes are often designed with top, middle and base notes, and designed to smell different based on the time after application.Aoud Lemon Mint is a part of Mancera’s Signature Oud line that explores a journey to the heart of the intriguing and fascinating Oriental world. In conclusion- a semi-fresh/sweet/woody frag, fits the transitional seasons better, slightly synthetic. It's such a powerful scent, I only did one spray and at first I kinda liked it but then it became really one note and also very nauseating.
