We don’t get many narrative footholds, only oddly placed details and tidbits of information, and most of our knowledge of the protagonist comes from inferring things from his action. The captivating elements of violent tragedy, crime mysteries, car chases, and shootouts add flavor to the narrative. The Professional meets Road to Perdition in this story of a family’s unlikely guardian being hunted by rich and powerful men who are used to getting away with everything. The way action is depicted feels kinetic and believable, and the various designs of the characters introduced so far appear real and individual.
