It would make a really amazing Corn ‘n’ Oil, or, as Trudiann said, it could be easily enjoyed with soda. If you're just getting into good rums, or already are and want a cheap sipper - you can't really go wrong.

Black Barrel has a higher proportion of double distillates than other Mount Gay rums and after hand selection by Master Blender Allen Smith, Black Barrel is the only marque finished in charred bourbon oak barrels.

Mount Gay has continued a long-standing Barbadian tradition for producing the world's oldest refined rum. I was fortunate enough to have visited the Mount Gay distillery about 15 years ago and had some rum ice cream for the first time, sipping this fine rum brought back some great memories. They mention that its a genuine sipping rum, wonderfully tasteful without a horrible burn and that its beautifully matured.
