Numbness - Reduces ALL damage by 35% for 20 seconds, but gives you annoying tunnel vision. This is objectively a great buff, but I hate using it. Hunts: Laid to Rest, The Man Who Cried Wolf, The Wolf Queen Awakened, Ancestral Worship, Evil in Waiting. Certain monsters can use magic of various kinds, such as blasts of fire(hellhound, firebird, dragons), mental effects like charm or paralysis(sirens, mermaids, harpys), or the innate ability to float in the air(light quartz, Voltimeria). Must function similarly to falna type magic as Willo The Wisp works on it as well. Resonant Soul - The cost can be a little offputting, but look at it this way: 100 souls is the same price as a throwing knife and if those did this much damage no one would ever use anything else. All things being equal this'll deal significantly more damage than Dark Orb at the same speed. But the problem is things aren't equal. You can get the best casting tool for Dark Orb 10 minutes after you press start, but you don't get a chime that can compete with it until after you beat the final boss. With how spell resistant DLC enemies are, that means this only starts outdamaging Dark Orb in NG+. Granted, Dark Orb spam starts to fall off pretty steeply once health pools get too big and you'll have more than enough souls to cover the cost. But most players aren't going to see this come into its own.

The worst of the fear-controlling skills, especially since it does absolutely nothing in boss fights. I miss the first Evil Eye control skill in EOU, where it both guaranteed an enemy wouldn't act, and amplified all damage to them for one turn. Aspect of terror boosts the effectiveness of all fear spells by 10 levels, but since fire spells also count as fear spells (enemies flee when set aflame and on low life) it boosts the damage of all fire spells by 10 damage. Combine this with 2 out of 2 augmented flames for another 50% damage boost, and you’ve got one hell of a powerful pyromancer.

Details

Paralyze stuns the enemy. Which would be nice if the other 2 skills didn't already do that. It's a completely redundant skill, and you're better off going with Suicide or Betrayal. Untold was kind enough to turn it into a damage amp (Think EO4's Star Drop, but stronger) as well as stunning the target. Betrayal is only useful against mobs, and you can probably just kill them with Poison or something else. It doesn't do anything if there's only one enemy on the field. Suicide is probably the only skill actually worth taking since it actually scales, and using it on a boss or FOE will help end the fight faster.

A multi-target revive is not worth it both being unreliable and inflicting fear on revived party members. Pass. Ouranos' divine authority is so strong that him constantly praying keeps certain monsters from spawning above the lower floors, and any from leaving the dungeon.

The rules will be used in their entirety. Players should not worry that they do not understand everything from the beginning and just play with their gut.
