And I even think that those endurance paces (not easy, and far from hard..something around Z2-early Z3 pace for zones-minded runners) are where the shoe shines the most. You still get the comfortable cushioning, and benefit from the responsiveness of the midsole, and its flexibility that’s really engaging you to push forward, in a very smooth motion. If you were a fan of the Triumph of the past (especially last year), then you will love this shoe. The midsole/outsole combo is the same as last year, but somehow, this thing lost an ounce of weight in the upper. That’s a pretty, pretty big deal. There isn’t as much plushness as year’s past, but in exchange, you get a more breathable – yet still comfortable – wrap around the foot. And honestly, I felt it on the run (in a good way). Compared to previous versions, the Triumph 19 felt for sure lighter on the foot, which was a pleasant surprise. In summary, 2021 is a very good vintage for the Saucony Triumph, with a new version rich in improvements. We see little reason to pass upon it, especially if you’re looking for a comfortable premium shoe for your long runs. Renee: Renee: As with Jeremy, this is my first Triumph. I had no idea what to expect. My note about the ride after my first run was “buttery smooth.” Like all Saucony shoes, the fit is perfect for my feet. I wear a women’s size 8 in my Saucony trail and roadsshoes, and the sizing and fit is similar in the Triumph as compared to other models. The fit and feel is comfortable throughout. My only caveat about the shoes is the weight. My shoes weighed 8.75oz (right) and 9.03oz (left), which is a big difference in weight between shoes in my women’s size 8. At that weight, the Triumph 19 is beyond a daily trainer and exclusively a long, easy/slow day shoe for me. That’s not a negative, just my note on usage. On the flip side of that issue, the shoes run well on pavement and gravel/light trail, providing a good amount of cushion and durability. This sole I found to have a nice density to it, and by that I mean it’s not Mushy. It is definitely not by any definition the softest midsole available but fits comfortably between firm responsiveness and a soft pillow feel. They are very comfortable with just the right amount of cushioning for any distance and terrain.

Asics Kayano 28 Review, New Update - Guest reviewer Ryan Flugaur adds his thoughts to the big Kayano changes. Softer, smoother, and more fun than ever before The rigid heel counter is nicely padded and ensures a secure hold, as for the midfoot. Saucony really has streamlined the midfoot part of their shoes, throwing away the ISO conception, for the best IMO. Foothold is not compromised at all, and the uppers are much more simple and effective, saving weight on the occasion. ADRIENNE: The Saucony Triumph is a premium trainer that’s been around for quite a while now with its 19 th iteration. This is a shoe that I feel like has been ignored in the past, but should not be this go around. Jeff: And this is where this shoe truly shines. While the midsole does feel a little firmer than some of its modern contemporaries, when out on the run, there’s a smoothness to the cushioning that few shoes on the market have. There’s a little bit of bounce/rebound when you land, but mostly just some nice squish to dull the road. That’s been the Triumph’s bread and butter, and this year’s version does it as well as any of its ancestors. There’s no sinking feeling as you land, so while this wouldn’t be the shoe I’d recommend for your speedwork, if you happen to be wearing them and the run gets fast, you’ll be fine.

At the rear, the heel counter is rigid and padded, while the heel collar provides a snug fit for a soft foothold. The gusseted tongue is less padded than on the previous version (presumably to shave some more weight), but it doesn’t impact the comfort.

I feel like a broken record, but @saucony, what’s up with these rope laces? Can we not do this anymore? There’s certainly a demand for more carbon-neutral footwear in general (for information, Brooks did it with its Ghost 14,which is carbon neutral, in addition to being 100% vegan). Even if Saucony doesn’t provide the exact amount of ecological materials used in the upper, it’s still a welcome initiative.Although the recent Triumph editions were fun and peppier than their listed weight, in today’s running shoe game, less is more. The folks at Saucony answered the call and gave the people what they wanted, a lighter shoe by nearly an ounce. Same plush and energetic PWRRUN+ midsole, but a FormFit mono mesh upper has replaced the double-layered mesh, wrapping the foot in all the right places and making the shoe more breathable. This shoe feels like sitting down in the cabin of a Mercedes. Now, I’ll step out of the way and let the team discuss their likes, dislikes, and usual mayhem on here.

Saucony decided it was time to make the Triumph a softer ride. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this, since I love how responsive the previous models were. But surprisingly, I like this better! The softer cushion makes my long runs feel easier and more comfortable. Runners appreciate this shoe’s flexibility and energy return, which few competitors can boast at this level of comfort. While the weight difference favors the Velocity, the T19 run is also far smoother. Price-wise it’s difficult to beat the Velocity, as it will be as durable as the Triumph. If a more..peppy, firm ride is your thing, and breathability(i.e autumn and winter runs is less important, the Velocity can be a good choice. The Triumph 19 feels light and has a crisper ride to it. Does that make sense? I just think it has a nice pep to it. It also feels very soft. I think some people will love the softer ride of this shoe. It did lose some of the responsiveness it had in the Triumph 18, but in return, you get a nice comfortable ride. I enjoyed using this shoe for long runs and easy runs. Top Three Things:Adidas Ultraboost 21- For those on their heels more, the towering boost with new torsion system feels smooth and forgiving That’s right, welcome to the latest episode of the Saucony Deja Vu Tour! Triumph 18 fans are about to be very happy, because this shoe is incredibly similar to its predecessor, with the biggest change being the weight loss - which is substantial. But we’ll get more into that down below.

It also has a different feel from many of the best cushioned running shoes. A lot of brands opt to put very soft and squishy foams in the midsole; I like a squishy shoe, and the likes of the Nike Invincibleand Asics Novablast 2 are comfortable and fun on easy runs, but many runners will prefer the more stable and traditional feel of the Triumph, which is a bit firmer underfoot. A substantial lightening of the shoe, making it more competitive with other models like Puma Velocity, whose upper is lined with an inner sleeve

Hey everyone! It’s Todd from Road Runner Sports and today, I’m sharing my Saucony Triumph 19 review with all of you. This is the latest model in the Triumph line-up and I was fortunate enough to run in the 17, 18, and now the 19. So, I’m definitely informed on this line. I’m excited to cover everything, from what’s different to my favorite features. There are a few small things that I don’t quite understand about this shoe. For example, I (and it seems like society) would’ve preferred a flared heel counter, which is industry standard now. Also, it just feels like this shoe should have a pull tab. I’m not a tab addict like some runners out there, but it definitely would have a spot on this one. Renee: Like Jeremy, I do not often like high-cushioned, soft road shoes. The Triumph does not feel mushy, and the overall cushion helps with comfort during long runs. The weight makes the shoe a slower/easy day shoe for me, and I do not get responsiveness from the ride/midsole, which is fine for its usage. The ride is “buttery smooth” and traditional on pavement and relatively smooth on dirt/gravel. On the Triumph, this color scheme is only visible on a little part of the heel collar, where the inside mesh is sewn with the external one, making for a discrete touch of fun on an otherwise very classic-classy looking shoe. The best way to illustrate just how thin and airy the 19’s upper is is with a picture. See how you can see the yellow insole in the 19 in the picture below while you can’t tell that the 18 insole is burgundy?
