She claims that they'll help her if she needs it, and Merlin decides to show them as they have a right to know and immediately teleports the other Sins and Elizabeth back to Lake Salisbury where they find the floating lake as well as Hawk and his mom who arrived after Zeldris' departure with Gelda. As a reader we don’t learn much about their backgrounds here but again, with 3 books left to go, I’m sure we will. Back in Liones, Meliodas claims his remark wasn't out of anger but out of fact as he knew Merlin better than anyone but wonders if that's true considering how much she kept from him despite working together for so many years and Diane, still saddened by Merlin's "betrayal", asks Meliodas if the Sins will really disband. The heart, emotion, and humor of the book takes the reader on the tumultuous journey of what it can be like to live with a child who has special needs or has a disability in an authentic way, but never gives into despair. Upon putting herself over the lake, Merlin removes Arthur's body still pierced by Excalibur from the Boar Hat.

Most noticeably, it displayed loyalty and trust as Hawk Mama, destructiveness and sadism as Cath Palug, rigidity and adherence as the Demon King and Supreme Deity, and wisdom and intelligence as the Lady of the Lake. Cath then takes the opportunity to attack Arthur, only for a barrier to form around him and is attacked by Merlin who Cath then attempts to kill with a breath attack, only for Meliodas to appear and use Full Counter to save him, much to her shock. I feel like the book was a build-up and a set-up to the world and the character's chemistry for more to come to the next book.

I'm glad I waited until this series was finished to binge the books back to back, because it's got a killer cliffhanger. However, Arthur remembers Meliodas' words to him back at the Vaizel Fighting Festival and adapts it by saying he doesn't mind if his subjects hate him or if they mock him, as so long as they're safe and happy, then everything will be fine as he claims his newfound goal: to rebuild Camelot as an "everlasting kingdom" where nobody suffers. Kings of Chaos is a full length dark new adult romance with enemies-to-lovers/love-hate themes, featuring a slightly psycho heroine and four even more psychotic men.

This is pretty generic dark RH – but, if you’re in the mood for that, it presses those buttons well. Arthur is shocked, believing he had destroyed him but Merlin claims she will not let Cath get to him as she goes outside and attacks him, claiming she will be its opponent. Following this, Chaos created the Giants as the fourth race but was disappointed with them due to being slaves of their own power and cowardly in their inability to reject fighting and war. Although fragile and the shortest lived of all the races, they were the ones that came closest to the true nature of Chaos and thus the entity favored them as its greatest creation.

The Lady of the Lake says that Chaos is a will of power, so it does not manifest itself in physical form and that "Hawk Mama" was just a provisional form in which the two gods sealed it. I wish the author would have dove more into the intensity build up between him and River because it could have led to something more.
