Note that includes at least a few Mini colors. Let's agree to ignore Rolls Royce, which has something like 40,000+ color options and probably at least another five or six blues. :yikes: As far as we could see, everything else is working as it should, though the sat-nav system is somewhat outdated, with the last update taking place around ten years ago! Nonetheless, it’s good to see the original system still in-situ.

As for mechanical, well, I went a bit crazy with that too but it's still not done, more things to do to it I asked the customer support of one big powder supplier in the usa (prismatic powders) if they already had matched to the BMW M performance caliper colors, and send pictures of them in all colors... they said they didn't, but gave me some suggestions - curiously, the suggestion for the yellow was exactly the color code which the above mentioned yellow calipers had been powder coated with, so the guy may have a good eye. Included with the car is an impressive history folder, including an itemised spreadsheet of work carried out to the car whilst in the vendors ownership, the original Approved Used handbook, the V5 showing 4 former keepers, a spare key and a treasure trove of invoices. Apply 2-3 coats of Base coat leaving 10-15 minutes between coats. Leave 30 minutes before applying mid coat. For the yellows, I found pictures of some, powder coated to match, in an E90 forum, and it's pretty close.I get compliments on the color CONSTANTLY, from people of both genders, all age groups, and all levels of car enthusiasm. People have walked out of their way to come over to my car and tell me how much they like the color, sometimes even saying that they like this particular shade of blue as opposed to just liking blue cars -- and that includes BMW enthusiasts who can tell it apart from Interlagos (aka "blurple").

Please also note that localised paint repairs are common with collectable and classic cars and if they have been professionally carried out then they may be impossible to detect, even if we see the car in person. So, unless we state otherwise, please assume that any vehicle could have had remedial bodywork at some point in its life. The first time that a V8 engine had ever made its way into a production ‘M’ car, the E39 M5 saw the introduction of the now-legendary 4.9-litre, naturally aspirated, 7,000rpm redline S62 engine, which was available exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox, something which seems unthinkable in today’s world of a dual-clutch transmissions and semi-automatic ‘boxes. IMPORTANT: Please note that whilst Bonhams|Cars Online always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings, we cannot claim they are complete analyses of any of the vehicles for sale. We offer the opportunity for bidders to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle prior to bidding, and we encourage bidders to take advantage of this. We do look at those vehicles which are delivered to our premises for sale, but this gives our unbiased personal observations, not those of a qualified inspector or other professional. We do not formally test drive the cars. What do others think of your color choice? Do you get compliments, etc.? (Shallow, I know, but hey, it matters to me--at least a little... )Having been used as both a daily driver and a weekend toy, we see no reason that this E39 couldn’t return to being a high-performance daily driver for the discerning driver or BMW enthusiast, should the next owner wish to do so.
