I found it heart-warming that the central theme of the book was the importance of family - something that is near and dear to my heart.

I loved her use of the amnesia plot device to bring Sam to examine his life choices and consider the life he wants in the future. Used books have different signs of use and might not include supplemental materials such as CDs, Dvds, Access Codes, charts or any other extra material. She slept better at night when her tasks were wrapped up for the day and not lingering overhead to be tackled tomorrow. I never would have picked up this book, were it not for the Hoopla Free Borrows for the month of November . All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps.

I recommend this book if you are in need to be swept away to a home filled with love, family and the spirit of Christmas. While Sam is a fair employer, and certainly not a total "Scrooge", he remains remote in his relationships with others--even with his father, David. A helpful hint I have for you is to increase the dry seasoning ingredients and mix in a jar to keep on hand. And because his dad was quite old and the relationship between them wasn’t that good, Angie decided to take care of him instead.
