He did not have a toy made of him in the vintage era. As of December 2012, he has now been included in the Masters of the Universe Classics toyline. [45] Faceless One [ edit ] Superhuman reflexes: His physical prowess is not limited to strength, however, and he is also depicted as being extremely fast and acrobatic. These traits do not show themselves in He-Man's movie appearance, but this may have been due to budgetary reasons, as well as the fact that Dolph Lundgren, in the absence of a fitting stunt double, was forced to perform all his own stunts. Battle Cat's alter ego first appeared in the stories written by Paul Kupperberg for DC Comics. Although he is certainly a coward, he is less motivated by fear than a simple desire to find peace and quiet. Cringer can speak, and does so frequently to complain about the commotion in the Royal Palace or his duties to the Goddess. When summoned by Zoar, Adam and Cringer must visit the Cavern of Power, whereupon they are instantly transformed into He-Man and Battle Cat. First appearing in the Masters of the Universe Classics toyline, Plasmar is a warrior who saw his fellow warriors and his family slain by the Horde and the Snake Men during the Battle of Xarkoran. Absorbing the powers of the Gem of Tomadge, he gained the ability to gain plasma-blast energy. He fought the Snake Men Warriors that he hunted down and even wore their hides. Plasmar was later found by his old friend Clamp Champ where he sided with He-Man.

In the 1987 film, Beast Man is featured as one of Skeletor's minions where Evil-Lyn listed him as "The Beast Man." He does not speak, but his sounds are translated by Karg. After recombining the Sigil of Hsss and reviving the Snake Men, Krass and Skeletor's ghost plan to seek out the remains of King Grayskull, having need of his body to resurrect Skeletor. Meanwhile, He-Man regroups with the remaining Masters of the Universe to try and beat them to the location before they find it. After splitting into groups to cover more ground, Adam, Cringer, and Randor race to the Mystic Mountains to search for clues to the Sigil of Hsss' creation, while Duncan and Teela fly to Levitathe, the frozen wasteland of the Merfolk to search for the Tomb, and encounter the revived Elderess. a b c d e f g h i j Bastos, Margarida (August 19, 2021). In the Masters of the Universe Classics toyline, Gwildor's kind was called the Vejulian Gwitthrol Trolls that come from Tundaria. He attended Grimhammer University in Eternos and studied under many of Eternia's great inventors, archaeologists, and magicians. It was in a small village in Pelleezeea where Gwildor invented the Cosmic Key. Starchild (voiced by Linda Gary) is a beautiful young girl, apparently between six and seven years old. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and she wears an outfit which resembles a red one-piece bathing suit with a yellow star and white boots. She has incredible magical powers, which she describes as feelings. Said powers cause a glow to appear around those she loves; the Starchild can use this "glow" to defend herself from those who would exploit her abilities for selfish ends, as in the Filmation episode "The Starchild" when the Tree People and the Cave Dwellers wanted custody of her. She also appears in the Larry DiTillio episode "Bargain with Evil", in which she combines her energy with that of another sorceress to open an inter-dimensional gateway. Adam, Cringer, and Teela are on a mission to recover the last piece of the Sigil of Hsss, which has been eaten by Gary, a giant, Havoc-mutated dragonfly, who is being chased by Evelyn. She is seeking to claim the piece and strip the Havoc from Gary's body to restore her connection to the Power of Havoc. Weldon, Glen (November 11, 2022). He-Man has several allies who are independent of the Heroic Warriors. Although they only occasionally assist He-Man (and only when it suits their purposes), they are considered heroic characters nonetheless. Lord Dactys (voiced by Richard Newman in the 2002 series) is the leader of the bat-like Speleans and an old friend of King Randor. The Speleans and the Caligars have been in a feud ever since they found their homes destroyed following the Great Unrest where they helped Miro. In "To Walk with Dragons," Lord Dactys becomes a member of King Randor's council. During the threat of King Hiss, Lord Dactys and Ceratus settled their differences. Prince Adam's pet is a fearful green tiger named Cringer. Whenever Adam becomes He-Man, he similarly transforms Cringer (in the latter's presence) into a lion-hearted armored green tiger named Battle Cat. Battle Cat serves as He-Man's "steed" and fierce fighting companion; like He-Man, he was created prior to his alter ego. Adam is sociable with the ravishing and strong-willed Teela, the adoptive daughter of his mentor, Man-At-Arms/Duncan. Adam and Teela grew up together and now, as Captain of the Eternian Royal Guard, Teela is entrusted to defend the prince. She often sees Adam as work-shy and faint-hearted because she is unaware of his alternate identity as He-Man. Teela is revealed to be the only daughter of the Sorceress and the future inheritor of Grayskull; the Sorceress chose adoption for Teela after her father passed away, when she was just an infant.a b Petski, Denise (August 19, 2021). In The Key to Castle Grayskull, Battle Cat remarks that the jungle he and He-Man are exploring is his birthplace, where he spent much of his youth, presumably as Cringer. He was not present during the events that first caused Adam to become He-Man, and did not join the hero as Battle Cat until much later. Cringer himself wonders aloud how he was chose him for such work, suggesting that he himself does not understand his qualifications. Man-E-Faces is voiced by Lou Scheimer in the 1980s series, Paul Dobson in the 2002 series, and Stephen Fry in the 2021 series.

Years passed, and after Adam was given the ability to become He-Man, he usually performed the transformation out of sight of Cringer who, even though he had grown to normal tiger size, was still afraid of just about everything. This all changed at an archaeological dig that Adam and Teela went on with Man-At-Arms, with Cringer in tow because he did not want to leave Adam's side. They inadvertently broke open a door releasing a monster, and to attempt to stop the monster Adam transformed into He-Man. Unbeknownst to him, Cringer was watching the entire transformation and ran away to hide. A now-transformed He-Man tried to reassure Cringer that he was still the same person, just with superpowers. However, as he was doing so, he accidentally pointed his still-energized sword at Cringer, who was quivering with fear at the sight. A beam of energy shot out of the sword and hit the cat, which caused Cringer to double in size, develop his loud roar, growling voice, and a newfound sense of courage, and be outfitted with his red armor for the first time. He-Man was surprised to see the change in the usually timid cat, but remembered the Sorceress' words from when he was a child; he then received another message, telling him Battle Cat was now his partner. Using Battle Cat, he was able to confine the beast and save the endangered team. This version of Battle Cat can be seen with He-Man in a MetLife commercial that aired in 2012. Depending on his transformation to He-Man, at times he is also armed with plate armor, a battle axe, a shield, or deadly snake pinchers. In the 1980s series, Prince Adam and He-Man are almost identically drawn, the difference being that Adam has lighter blonde hair and paler skin, while He-Man has bronzed skin and more golden hair. Rio Blast was voted No.5 in The 10 Most Unfortunate Masters Of The Universe Toys by Io9. [23] Rio Blast was voted 1st out 7 in the 7 Stupidest He-Man Characters by Total Film. [26]

13. Ram Man

When empowered by the Power of Grayskull, Cringer becomes Battle Cat. He boasts greater strength, senses, speed, and ferocity, and he gains armor, a helmet, and enhanced mechanical claws. He also serves as He-Man's steed. After becoming a true Master of the Universe, Cringer found his own Power and used it to regain his powers and form as Battle Cat.
