I remember reading this over a year ago and being very annoyed, because the next book wasn’t out yet! And I very much enjoyed attempting to solve the case with Pip (who I now want to be my best friend).

In Jake's English home town, tensions are rising between those who oppose the war in Afghanistan, and those who consider Muslims as traitors. In some ways, the epilogue 'Three months later' detracted a bit from my overall enjoyment of the book, which was heading for a 5-star read up to then.Endgame, the breathtaking conclusion to the series, influenced by the unprecedented global events of recent years, is full of twists and turns and emotions, with its incredible characters reaching a dramatic conclusions to their stories. And this leads me to my main point about Blackman's writing – her characters may not be 2D cutouts but they are totally changeable!

Although Blackman’s writing was still good, the plot lacked the structure and pacing to keep me fully engaged.Packed with twists, turns, and drama throughout, it was the most incredible end to my favourite series ever.

Is there really going to be no police consequences for anyone considering how many people were killed, kidnapped etc. The cliff-hanger ending will leave fans desperately awaiting the next instalment' Mail on Sunday, 'Must-Read Books of the year, 2019' on Crossfire. Couldn’t even stomach the last load of paragraphs as they just seemed pointless and I stopped caring. Little Bang, Kelly McCaughrain ( paperback Jan 2024) €10,95 A bittersweet Northern Irish romance that takes a new look at teen pregnancy, the magic and mess of first relationships, and a young woman's right to choose her own future. The books, written primarily for a young adult audience, have been written and published over a 21-year period meaning many readers have grown up with the books and have long-awaited its conclusion, while other readers may be experiencing the series for the first time. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc.

I didn’t quite fly through this one like I did Crossfire, but I could have read it a lot quicker if I had the time to pick it up a bit more. When we're younger, we often keep a diary where we talk about our crushes, how annoying our teachers are, our parents, and our dreams. Newcomers to Noughts and Crosses would be advised to start at the beginning as Endgame draws heavily on what has come before, not least the murder of gangster Dan Jeavons and the kidnapping of Troy and Libby.

I am happy with Libby's ending, the fact that she finally got a loving and stable family to live in, much needed after her traumatic childhood. The stakes of this should have been a lot bigger, but the logic of how the characters responded to this situation ranged from passive to downright ridiculous. We also focus on the cast of characters we’ve seen over the years and get some sense of their next stages. Things have changed for her since that first outing, a lot, and though she features in Endgame there are numerous characters that we focus on.
