We keep repeating it; we always find the name 'Lite' somewhat unfortunate. And the addition of 'Power' only makes it more confusing. Because is it powerful or is it a lightweight? It's up to us to explain it properly. The name Power is a reference to the built-in MediaTek helio P35 processor. Altho it is a processor consisting of eight cores, it is not a very powerful chip. And with that, Motorola immediately undermines its own marketing storey. Because why 'powerful'? Of course everything is relative and you don't pay a lot for the G8 Power Lite, but call it G8 Lite. Long battery life W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) is an air interface used by 3G mobile networks. It is one of the three different UMTS interfaces together with the TD-SCDMA and the TD-CDMA. The standard provides faster data transfer speeds and allows more users to connect to the network simultaneously. This is a fairly basic phone, that’s likely to meet your expectations for the price. The battery is large, though not as enduring as we’d expected, and there’s nothing else that it particularly excels with – so think carefully as to whether it’s worth splashing out just a little for cash for a phone with superior cameras, performance, and screen that gives so much more enjoyment to your day-to-day tech usage. Silent: You won't hear a sound or feel a vibration. But the notification will show up when you swipe down from the top of your screen.

Novo Moto G8 Play com câmera tripla | Smartphones Motorola - Motorola". www.motorola.com.br (in Brazilian Portuguese) . Retrieved 23 November 2019. The Moto G8 Power Lite isn’t a handset you should look at if you’re a budding smartphone photographer, as while its camera array isn’t terrible, it’s no better than passable, and we’d recommend splashing out on a slightly pricier phone (perhaps one of the other Moto G8 devices) if you want to take good-looking snaps. Still, this is the kind of display you’d expect to find on a phone at this price point, and it’s certainly not terrible. It’s bright, and while colors don’t exactly ‘pop’, they’re not too dark or grimy either. The display is LCD, which means it has a rather low contrast rate compared to the more common OLED screens, and this can be noticeable when you’re watching movies or playing games. Battery must be substantially depleted; charging rate slows as charging progresses. All battery life claims are approximate and based on the median user tested across a mixed use profile (which includes both usage and standby time) under optimal network conditions. Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network and device settings, temperature, battery condition, and usage patterns Pixels are usually measured in microns (μm). Larger ones are capable of recording more light, hence, will offer better low light shooting and wider dynamic range compared to the smaller pixels. On the other hand, smaller pixels allow for increasing the resolution while preserving the same sensor size. The Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite is an inexpensive phone for starters with a large battery and triple camera. The battery measures a large 5000 mAh which is enough to last 3 days. The Triple Camera consists of a primary, ultra-wide-angle and macro camera. But what else can it do? Name is unfortunate So with that in mind, is it more prudent to go for this device rather than the G8 Power? Do you get all the benefits for a cheaper price? Or are there a few too many compromises? Read our review to find out. Motorola G8 Power Lite Design The color depth of the display is also known as bit depth. It shows the number of bits used for the color components of one pixel. Information about the maximum number of colors the screen can display.

The Moto G8 is also a better all-around performer, not that this comes as any surprise since it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665. The Moto G8 Power Lite, meanwhile, is saddled with a Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 chipset that delivered middling results in our performance tests. The phone has 64GB storage, which is fairly good for this price point, where you’ll often find just 32GB, which we’d suggest isn’t enough for anyone, and this can be expanded via a microSD card. Software If you’re familiar with the design of any of Motorola's G8 line of phones, you’ll know what the Moto G8 Power Lite looks like, as they’re all very similar looking, although the G8 Power Lite also borrows some design elements from the Moto G7 line. I absolutely love this phone. I have had Apple and Android phones in the past but there is just something loveable about the Moto G8. The rear cameras of mobile devices use mainly a LED flash. It may arrive in a single, dual- or multi-light setup and in different arrangements. Great photos and it doesnt break when I drop it! if you are not running a lot of apps it does have a 3 day battery life, obviously the more apps and programs you put on it the battery life reduces but it's still better than most phones. Its got huge storage space so I can just add as many apps as i want.

Lenovo clearly cut some corners. The housing is made of plastic, Android 9 Pie is pretty outdated, charging goes via old-fashioned microUSB and the MediaTek Helio P35 is not known for its extremely powerful performance. Nevertheless, there are still enough positives to mention. The 4 GB RAM memory is pretty okey for this price point. A fingerprint scanner is always nice to have and a water-repellant coating gives you a little more peace of mind. G8 Power Lite available CPU is the Central Processing Unit or the processor of a mobile device. Its main function is to interpret and execute instructions contained in software applications. The macro camera is a lot of fun to play around with. It’s capable of capturing intricate details on the smallest objects – such as tiny blossoming flowers or the 5p coin seen below – from just 2.5cm away. The standard Moto G8 can get ever so slightly closer, with a macro distance of 2cm. Information about the process technology used in manufacturing the chip. The value in nanometers represents half the distance between elements that make up the CPU. System on Chip (SoC) A system on a chip (SoC) includes into a single chip some of the main hardware components of the mobile device. SoCThe phone has a 16MP f/2.0 main camera, which is joined by two 2MP f/2.4 snappers, one macro and one depth-sensing. We’d actually recommend avoiding using these latter cameras, as we’ll explain in a second, so for all intents and purposes there’s only one rear camera here you’ll be using frequently, the main one. Overall, the design looks good and is functional – but we’d have strongly preferred a USB-C cable for greater compatibility and interchangeability with other devices. Motorola G8 Power Lite Screen In terms of real world usage, I found that the battery dropped down to 95% from full after one hour of video streaming, and after three hours it had dropped down to 81%. That’s a good record, but given the massive battery combined with the undemanding display, I might have expected an even better performance; bear in mind that the G8 Power was down to 97% after an hour of video streaming.

One final design curiosity is that there’s a speaker grille on the rear of the phone, not on the bottom edge as on most other smartphones, which breaks up the uniform look of the handset, and also likely means it isn’t waterproof (though it does have a water-resistant coating). Display Low-light shooting is surprisingly good too, as evidenced by this still life shot below. It appears much brighter than it did in reality, and the camera has done an excellent job of teasing textures out from the shadows without adding too much visual noise. When you receive unwanted notifications from an app, touch & hold the notification, then touch Turn off notifications. It’s a good thing that you don’t have to charge your phone too often, as the actual charging process could be quite laborious. As mentioned, the G8 Power Lite has a rather old-school micro USB port, and one of the downsides of this is slower charging speeds. The G8 Power Lite powers up at a leisurely 10W, which is one of the slowest speeds we’ve seen, even at this price point.

Motorola does bring its own tweaks to the Android formula, mainly in the way of its gesture shortcuts – among other things you can make a double-karate chop motion to turn on the flashlight, rotate your wrist twice to open the camera app, and turn the phone up-side-down to activate do-not-disturb mode.
