As far as autobiographies go I've read better but this was still entertaining and interesting. I felt the flow of the book ebbed away towards the end - which is in no way a reflection of the man himself, just the way this was written and presented. There were some stories which scratched a surface and didn't delve much deeper which I would have liked but there was a lot to cram in I guess. The Monday Night Club discuss whether Jude Bellingham is England's best talent since Paul Gascoigne, after he was named best young player at Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony. In November 2017, Doddie and his trustees launched the registered charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Our vision is simple: A World Free of MND. Sinfield's epic challenges have included running 7 ultra marathons in 7 days, and running over 101 miles in 24 hours. In the process, Sinfield has captured the hearts of the nation and over GBP7 million for MND. He was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday honours for his efforts, along with the Freedom of Leeds and a special BBC Award for his fundraising.

Burrow hopes to be at the finishing line but Sinfield said: "Whether Rob is going to be good enough to be there on Tuesday, we'll have to wait and see.

BBC News - Kevin Sinfield: The Extra Mile

I've always thought Kevin Sinfield was a hero. His quiet, calm, committed leadership makes people want to support him and we are all doing that as he supports Rob Burrow and everyone living with MND' Clare Balding About the Author: Born in Oldham and known affectionately as 'Sir Kev', Kevin Sinfield retired in 2016 as an idol of the Leeds Rhinos' golden years and as a former England captain. Sinfield won seven Super League titles, three World Cup Challenges and two Challenge Cups in 521 matches for his club. From 2003 he captained a side that exemplified the best of his sport. Sinfield became the first rugby league player to be nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award, finishing in second place behind Andy Murray in 2015. My Name’5 Doddie Foundation funds research into the causes of MND and potential treatments while also supporting families affected by MND. Sinfield describes Edwards - winner of three Grand Slams coaching Wales and one with France - as "a legend" and his coaching achievements as "incredible", telling BBC Sport: "The way the French play, the flair and physicality, the power, the pace. They are an outstanding team. It will give us an indication of where we're at." Aged 14, Sinfield met a 12-year-old Rob Burrow at rugby league side Leeds Rhinos. Twenty-eight years later, they are still firm friends after a glittering career in which Sinfield became the Rhinos' most successful captain, winning seven Super League titles. Then in 2021, he set out to run 101 miles from Leicester - where he was coaching - to Leeds and ended up running 104 miles after getting lost twice. Nice insight into Sir Kev's life, not just the playing career but his life outside of rugby including his charity work, friendships, and family. Told with Sinfield's characteristic warmth, dry wit and inspirational leadership, The Extra Mile is the story of an astonishing life, of an enduring friendship, of perseverance against the most difficult of challenges, and of a remarkable, humble human being who has defied the odds. The book equips readers with the tools and the mindset to embrace togetherness and to overcome their own challenges. Follow Kevin on his journey through gruelling athletic challenges to raise money for charities helping people affected by motor neurone disease, including his former rugby league teammate Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2019.

England have conceded seven tries so far this Six Nations - with only Ireland conceding less on four - and have conceded the least penalties of any side with 23. It is evident from his successful stint as Leicester Tigers defence coach, during which he helped them win the Premiership, that Sinfield brings the same commitment to his work.Sinfield is over a month into the tournament now and the former Great Britain and England rugby league player's impact will reveal itself further. Kevin’s journey began in 2020, when he ‘just went for a run for a mate’, to support MND charities and raise awareness of people living with the disease.
