Please share this post if you found it helpful, and comment below if you have also given one a makeover. These ornaments infuse your tree with a personal touch, making your holiday season even more magical. When I was writing Dainty Dress Diaries the book, it was during the height of the pandemic, and I didn’t think I would get the opportunity to do signings. The one important thing I need to add is patience. I had a lot of wood to paint in my home. It can be overwhelming when you have a lot of skirting to paint. I also painted my internal doors. When painting skirting boards, you want durable paint. You can choose a satin, eggshell or gloss finish paint for painting your skirting boards. My best advice is to avoid cheap oil-based paint as from experience, these go yellow over time and smell bad. Also, with a good surface prep, water-based paints shouldn’t chip or discolour over time.

Adorn them with a touch of paint, glitter, or ribbon to add a festive flair. These ornaments not only exude a rustic charm but also serve as a wonderful reminder of the natural world during winter. Quirky Fabric Christmas Ornaments If you decide to glue them on then make sure to place some cardboard in between your cushion so as not to glue your whole cushion together. Let your glue dry and then add some filler to your cushion.I used Autentico Versante Mattpaint on the plastic playhouse. I used this paint on the other cubby house and also on my shed. Since painting both of these in Versante Matt, I have had no problems with the paint range, and it has lasted. Handmade Christmas ornaments are more than just decorations; they’re a labour of love and a celebration of creativity. Whether you craft them alone or with loved ones, the process becomes a cherished memory. I wanted to share with you some recent podcasts that I have been on this year that I think you will enjoy. A massive thank you to the ladies who have had me on their podcasts this year and for having the giggles and deep chats with me. I am going to share the links below with you. If you are an old-time reader of my blog, you may find some of your favourite projects inside the book. For newbies, I hope my book ignites your creative spark and gives you an idea of what I share each week on my YouTube channel. Book signing Eason’s O’Connell St May 21st 2022 To prepare the plastic before painting, use a degreaser to remove dirt and oils. I used Omniclean by Autetnico to wash down the plastic playhouse. As this has been in a garden, it was full of spider and cobwebs, so I gave it a blast of the power washer as well. Combine these ingredients to form a dough, roll it out, cut out your desired shapes, and bake until hard. Once cooled, let your imagination run wild with paints, glitter, and embellishments. Personalize each ornament with names, dates, or particular messages for a truly one-of-a-kind decoration. Nature-Inspired Ornaments Use a brush to touch up these areas and wait a few days before allowing children to play with it, as this will allow the paint to cure. The talented and gorgeous Joanne Larby had me on as a guest to chat about career changes, creativity and being single when you are over thirty. We had such a lovely girly chat and I hope you enjoy this episode. I highly recommend you listen to the other amazing people Joanne has interviewed in series1 of her podcast. I have been at it again, I have been busy chopping up an old dress and turning into something new. This week I am sharing how to upcycle a dress into new items. I had this old dress that I adored. I just loved the floral print. I had been hanging onto it but sadly it had become too tight across the waist. I decided to recycle the fabric and make some new items. I made an elastic waist skirt, a matching pouch, and a headband. This project is beginner friendly and I have a Youtube video sharing how I made all three items. You can catch the video at the end of this post. Now, because I have a small car, I rented a van from GoCarfor €11. I politely asked my brothers if they would collect it for me. What paint to use on the plastic playhouse

You might also enjoy my video from a few weeks ago where I made some makeup bags. You can catch it below.

All of the details on how to make these pouches is within the video, which I have below. I am going to leave the measurements below for the three pouches. Also, take your time when cutting your fabric as cutting is just as important as your machine work. You can also trim as you go and I always recommend using your iron to get that polished finish. Not only do they add a personal touch, but they also create lasting memories. In this blog post, we’ll explore the magic of DIY Christmas baubles and provide some fun and personal DIY ideas to infuse your holiday season with creativity and love. The Magic of Handmade Christmas Ornaments The count down is on, and there are only a few weeks left until my new Dainty Dress Diaries book hits the shelves. Also, I can’t believe that I get to type that very sentence. For years, I have been glue gunning, painting and punching away on the keyboard sharing weekly projects with you. So, it gives me great pleasure to share all the details about my new book.
