Description

Your teapot will need to have a tea filter, to which you can add your ground coffee to. Start by grinding 18 grams of coffee into a coarse grind. Next up is boiling 250 grams of water and adding this to your teapot. Larger than a conventional ball infuser but smaller than the OXO or Yoassi, it’s still amply sized. You’ll also receive two matching metal drips trays to keep your table clean.

Some tea infusers benefit by a bit of dipping or swirling while you wait for the tea to steep or before you remove it, to ensure that the tea is evenly distributed throughout the mug. Perhaps our only criticism is one that affects most basket infusers: depending on the type of tea and amount of water you use, the tea leaves can float toward the top of the infuser and may not fully submerge. This is one difference between a basket infuser and tea ball infuser; although, the former has the benefit of providing more space for tea leaves diffuse throughout the cup. I was immediately intrigued by the functionality of the OXO Good Grips tea infuser, twisting the end of the handle and watching the ball open and close with a satisfying heft. In practice, however, this proved to be the most frustrating part of the experience. If you want to make your own tea at home, you will want to look into purchasing a tea infuser. A tea infuser is great for both experienced tea drinkers and newbies. Before you begin looking into what tea infuser will suit your needs the best, you will want to review our carefully researched buying guide. What Is a Tea Infuser?OXT 3 Pcs Tea Infuser: For anyone looking for a bargain, this set of three identical infusers might prove tempting! But we did not love the infuser’s clasp (it was stubborn to close) and a few leaves escaped during steeping.

With its affordable price and unbeatable performance, the Finum Brewing Basket is the first place to look for a quality tea infuser, as basket-shaped infusers are widely preferred by tea experts and this is one of the best out there. We also love the convenient and adorable House Again Extra Fine Mesh Tea Infusers, especially if you're looking for a set instead of a single infuser. How We Tested

Other Steepers I Tested

Size, shape, color, number of holes, and ease of use are all important factors to consider before buying a tea infuser. In terms of size, larger infusers may require more tea leaves for a full-flavored brew. Meanwhile, smaller sizes may be easier to rinse out after use. Now, let this steep for at least 4 minutes until removing the coffee filter. The coffee filter will extract some nice coffee oils from the coffee. Nonetheless, it will still taste like coffee, but it will result in a weaker, more watery coffee. Constructed of sturdy micro-mesh stainless steal and a heat-tolerant BPA-free plastic frame, the Finum basket steeper is offered in medium and large sizes that fit cups and mugs as well as tea pots and thermoses. It comes with a lid that fully covers the steeper and acts as a lid for the tea-making vessel, so my tea stayed hot and aromatic while it steeped. After brewing, the lid flips over to become a handy holder for the steeper to rest in as it cools. While this is not the most commonly used coffee technique, I can recommend trying it out at least once. This will be pretty nice when your favorite coffee brewer broke down on you or you feel like trying out something new.
