For this re-recording, she teamed up with Mike Berry, her co-star in the sitcom ‘Are You Being Served? An argument breaks out when they can’t decide whose song to perform in a competition – Simon’s song, Something Outa Nothing, or one by Harry Reynolds (played by Gareth Potter) – who owns most of the instruments they play. EastEnders’ producer Julia Smith was very unhappy about this but Davidson defied her, telling him she could kill his character off if she wasn’t happy.

Nick Berry (born April 16, 1963 in Woodford, Essex) is an English television actor best known for his roles as Simon 'Wicksy' Wicks in EastEnders (1985–90), PC (later Sgt) Nick Rowan in Heartbeat (1992–98) and Mike Nicholls in Harbour Lights (1999). Another novelty on top of the UK charts… Unless I’m forgetting someone obvious, Nick Berry becomes the first singer of dubious talent to top the charts thanks to starring in a popular soap opera. Betty Driver from Coronation Street would have had a hit in 1954 with I Know You’re Mine, but the record only sold well enough to reach the top 40 and there was only officially a top 12 at that time. Many 7" Vinyl Singles are sold in generic card or paper sleeves and not in the picture sleeves which are shown - these will be described as 'Generic' or 'Not Graded' in the condition descriptions above.Paul J Medford must have been happy to record this single for ‘EastEnders’ as he wanted to sing professionally, this being the reason he eventually left the show. Overall disappointed, but the record was fine it would have been preferable that it was stated that the cover was damaged/creased, wouldn't have purchased it otherwise. Berry’s studio recording of the former was one of three official BBC singles tied in with ‘EastEnders’ during 1986; in the original press release the BBC confidently predicted that “with full BBC TV and radio support this is definitely a top ten hit. It was the second biggest-selling single in the UK that year (after " Don't Leave Me This Way" by The Communards). The worst bit is the horrible three-note synth flourish that pierces the mellow mood every few lines, and on which the song ends.
