Description

These are a remarkably good amp for their price and size. As an amp for small gigs (or even for bigger events) these perform far beyond what they look like they should be capable of. The Orange Micro Terror is designed to be as rugged as their higher-end products. It is basically a scaled-down Orange Tiny Terror amp, which was discontinued.

While it is not quite nuclear in terms of high-gain, the Terror Stamp takes gain pedals well, and super-heavy metal tones are only a well-chosen dirt box away. Indeed, used as a pedal platform, the Terror Stamp can take on all kinds of styles. There is an effects loop to the rear of the enclosure. But they are all very capable and quality amplifiers. Orange has never gone down the modelling route and so you don’t get lots of different amp models and tones. Instead you get 2 channels – clean and dirty – both of which sound excellent. With only a small amount of space and 3 controls there’s not a huge amount to comment on. It’s laid out well, is clear and looks fine. If you’re interested in playing metal then it makes complete sense to go for the Micro Dark ahead of the Terror. And even if you’re not a metalhead it’s worth a look. The cab is only short for a guitar speaker cabinet. A cab is basically a unit that contains one or more speakers. You will need a cab if you are using a guitar amp head because you will have no source to hear the actual sound.Just like our full-size amps, we’ve given you a fully-buffered, low-impedance FX Loop. Long cable runs? No Problem. True Bypass pedals? Great. The Terror Stamp fits right into your signal chain without ever compromising sound quality. Not only that, but connecting directly to the FX Return turns this little monster into a 20W power amp for whatever pedals, preamps or modellers you can throw at it – with a headphone output too! CAB SIM HEADPHONE OUTPUT If I had to choose between the two amps, I would go with the Micro Dark because I am a pedal guy and I couldn’t live without the effects loop. If you’re strictly a metal player then you’re best looking at the Micro Dark or elsewhere. Likewise if you play jazz then the Micro Terror isn’t for you. The Micro Terror was based on the design of the Tiny Terror. Like the name suggests, it’s basically just a smaller version of the Tiny Terror. Harmonics sound excellent, even at a low volume and gain. They just pop off the strings in all registers.

One 12AX7/ECC83 pre-amp valve powers the Micro Terror’s single channel with 20 watts of solid state output. Though its circuitry is slightly different, Orange refers to the preamp in the Micro Terror as the “Tiny Terror” for good reason. Its single channel has a similar tonal quality to that of the original Tiny Terror. But, saying that 15w (tube) output will give you more than 15w (SS) output is misleading. You'll also notice I tried to stress "all things otherwise being equal." Practically speaking, all things are not equal. I also did not say the waveforms are identical, because they're not, but from a strictly power standpoint, you don't get any more volume from 15w of tube output than you do from 15w of SS output. If all else is equal. The notion the tube power itself is louder is false. Again, it's the mechanisms behind the amp design and characteristics when pushed beyond it's rated capabilities that makes the difference. The first thing to note about these amps is obviously their size. They are significantly smaller than a loaf of bread, and look amusingly small on top of a 2x12 cabinet. What also really needs mentioning is that the Micro Terror is LOUD. For such a tiny little thing it’s ridiculous how loud it can get. Here is a comparison of the Orange Micro Terror and its counterpart, the Orange Micro Dark amp. Specification You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail.

The revoiced Mercury Edition definitely extends the range of the original Amp1, without travelling too far from the original sounds, which were already superb. Using state-of-the-art technology, the Micro Terror is equipped with a single ECC83 (12AX7 preamp value), jointed with a solid state power amp. For the small amount extra you pay it is absolutely worth considering it. Orange Micro Dark Terror 20W Head Orange Micro Terrror vs Tiny TerrorPlease note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. Since then, the reputation of this British company has only been burgeoning, and the list of its products has been on the rise. Orange Micro Terror

The 20W Micro Terror valve amp, measuring just 132x165x80mm, is small enough to fit into a lunchbox and even has a carrying handle. It has two inputs; the first is a traditional 1/4in TRS input, which feeds through the unit’s valve pre-amp stage. The auxiliary input, designed to be connected to the 3.5mm output of an MP3 player or PC, goes straight to the final solid-state amplification stage and, although it’s affected by the volume knob, the gain and tone controls don’t affect it. Aside from it being a bit awkward to have it on your pedal board rather than as a head it’s hard to see how it’s not a winner. You’re getting the sound of the Micro with all the additional features of the Micro Dark. Win-win! Orange Terror Stamp 20W Guitar Amp Pedal Orange Micro Terrror vs Crush 12/20RT/CR60 You get a much fuller, richer sound and you can shape your tone more effectively. It’s still somewhat limited being a single channel, however. The speakers then transform those amplified electric signals into a sound that you hear through your ears. What is a Combo? However, I recommend connecting the amp to a speaker cabinet and using the headphones only when necessary. Once you hear the amp cranked through a good speaker cabinet, I’m sure you’ll agree. Hearing Is Believing If you are playing it in your home studio, there will be just enough headroom for the sound, but it may distort a little if you push the sound too much. Pair the Orange Micro Terror with a good-quality speaker cabinet, and you can do wonders with it. The volume is good for beginners and professionals alike. Sound The primary purpose of the silk-screened chassis is to keep the amp valve and the internal circuit components well protected from dirt and moisture. The original Tiny Terror was well known for its compact size and 20-watt output that made it an ideal travel amp, but the Orange Micro Terror is even more portable. It’s roughly the same size as a lunchbox, lightweight, and you can plug in your headphones or an MP3 player right to its auxiliary input.
