There is a fun subplot involving Bug-Eyes/Fake Thorfinn who has returned to his home as a disgraced man, after being financially screwed over by a woman whom he planned to marry. The only way Bug-Eyes can redeem himself is by joining Thorfinn’s voyage, where he remains a comic character.
