The U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) states that ' The FDA recognizes four major hazard classes (I to IV) of lasers, including three subclasses (IIa, IIIa, and IIIb). The higher the class, the more powerful the laser is and the greater the potential to pose serious injury if used improperly. ' The Pococo Galaxy Projector is ultimately the same technology as the Orzorz Galaxy Lite mentioned above, but in a different body. Scroll up to the top of the list to read all of the functionality, it's all the same and even uses the same shape disks; it's just the shape and color of this model that makes it different. When it comes to toys to do with space, we have quite a few. Kai went through a massive space phase, getting loads of scientific books, toys, telescopes and so much more, but we never got our hands on a projector. Brainstorm Toys Night Sky projector is a child friendly projector that is very durable and easy for kids to carry around and uses. The girls were super interested in the toy, with Kai using it to point out various constellations. Learn about the Universe – how big it is, what it's made of and how it started with a Big Bang! Find out about constellations with detailed information about ten key constellations in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, including the Great Bear, Orion and Draco. There are lots of amazing deep space images and links to further online Solar System and Moon information.

The Ambience Galaxy & Star Projector resembles a UFO shape and has a faceted dome to help disperse the LED over 180 degrees. After reviewing lots of star projectors, this is a unique design. Pococo Galaxy Star ProjectorIt does what it is supposed to — it projects high-quality imagery onto any surface to immerse you in the wonders of what the universe has to offer, maintaining a static picture or slowly rotating image.★★★★ Auto-off Timer Function】Our bedroom star projector galaxy night light can be set to automatically turn off after 1 or 2 hours, and it defaults to a 4-hour shutdown when you fall asleep, preventing you from forgetting to set the timer. Additionally, this quiet starry sky night light serves as ambient bedroom lighting, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere to enhance your sleep.Designed for home offices, home cinemas, gaming rooms, spas, bedrooms and house parties, this laser-powered 'galaxy projector' takes viewers on a journey through multicolored clouds. When we reviewed the BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0 review, we found it very easy to set up and liked its easy operation. Bliss Lights SkyLite 2.0, although superseded by the Evolve as mentioned above, is still an excellent star projector that features most of the same functionality, just not Google or Alexa voice control. It looks different because it is 'wheel-shaped' rather than spherical, but it slots nicely onto a bookshelf without taking up much space. Encalife Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Star Projector: Although it is called a Galaxy Star Projector, like most others, this is more of a mood-setting light, showing colors and patterns that reflect galaxies and nebulas with lasers that you could associate with a starry sky.★★★★ The operation of the motor is very smooth and quiet, so it would be fine as a night light to drift off to sleep. As we mentioned in our review, the lighting module seems to be the same — if just a tiny bit less impressive — as other star projectors we have reviewed, including the BlissLights Sky Lite 2.0and the Encalife Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Star Projector. They are by no means scientific, but they can be customized using the supplied remote control to any speed and color configuration you like. This is an unusual entry on our list, given that it only has one function. That said, we have included it in this guide as an inexpensive 'faff-free' star projector, though as we discussed in our BlissLights Starport USB star projector review, we use the term star projector loosely.

Most star projectors will have a sleep timer — we look for how many options for the sleep timer duration you have and whether it is effective and reliable. This projector is really great. The light itself makes the images very clear – the pictures in this post are actually taken at midday, as we often forgot to take pictures at night, when we were all ready for bed. Even though it was the middle of the day, you can easily see all of the details in the pictures that it presents, which is really impressive. Kai spent a lot of time telling everyone what everything was, while the girls liked looking at the stars and talking about how beautiful they were! It’s a really lovely little projector to take a look in. Unlike some other models, we found it to be near silent in its operation, which is great if you're using it to get to sleep or whilst watching a film.

Then there are scientific home planetariums that generally project 'real imagery,' so you can study and enjoy projections of real galaxies and nebulas from the comfort of your own home without investing in expensive astronomy equipment. These are much more likened to the more traditional planetariums that teach astronomy and related sciences. There is a shooting star function, but this leaves a little to be desired, and we think it's an unnecessary add-on. While it's not a mind-blowing star projector, it is great as an educational STEM toy and we haven't reviewed a device yet that acts as both a star projector and planetarium. There isn't a 'top X star projector list' you'll come across without finding the Sega Toys Homestar Flux taking a podium position. Unlike many 'star projectors,' this model's main focus (no pun intended) is to project a realistic-looking, high-quality image of extraterrestrial subjects onto your wall or ceiling, often using real photos from various observation stations around the world. It ships with two disks as standard, but with over 30 compatible disks available as additional add-ons, there's a greater level of exploration to be had than with other star projectors and home planetariums.

The projections of stars and constellations are suitable for a small room, but it doesn't have the 'wow' factor of the lasers used in some more sophisticated models of star projector. This is suited to a young audience though, and LED's are safer for young eyes. There is an abundance of blue stars visible in a dark room, and you can overlay constellations to enhance learning. The stars and constellations closest to the projector's position are sharper, the sharpness falls off towards the edges, however, they are sufficient for the young target audience. Here we have one of the most reasonably priced star projectors available. Think of it as an educational STEM toy for young budding astronomers rather than anything too sophisticated. The faceted dome shape means the lights can be projected and dispersed over 180-degrees, meaning the entire ceiling is covered with lights. Sega Toys Homestar FluxGreat for recreating a realistic-looking night sky inside. It's on the pricier end of the market but the option to upgrade your disc collection is attractive. The night sky representation is about as realistic as it gets.★★★★½ Once again, we're not sure what we love most about this feature-rich Aurora Borealis Northern Lights Star Projector. You can easily choose between a whopping 16.7 million Aurora colors by using the buttons on the device, the remote control that comes with it or your smartphone.

The models that tend to be more affordable are those that give you an immersive experience, to give the feel of being somewhere other-worldly, and the colors and patterns are loosely 'inspired' by space — nebulas, auroras and galaxies. You've likely seen them at parties, in games rooms, in spas and so on.

Aurora Borealis Northern Lights Star ProjectorIt's highly customizable, the patterns are realistic and the music rhythm mode is impressive. This is one of our favorites. ★★★★½ Auto-off Timer Design) The star projector galaxy light in the bedroom can be set to automatically turn off after 1 or 2 hours. Additionally, it turns off automatically after 4 hours (default) when you fall asleep, in case you forget to set the timer. Moreover, this noiseless starry sky night light can be used as ambient lighting in the bedroom, creating a calm and peaceful environment to help you fall asleep. To get a bright and sharp projection on your ceiling, just rotate the image and adjust the focus wheel (which is easy to do in the dark thanks to the blue illuminated buttons). The optics are from the German optics brand Bresser, who make binoculars, telescopes, and microscopes. However, we did notice that the stars at the edge of the projection can seem blurry. One novel feature is an optional 'falling star' mode, which projects a flashing meteor every 40 seconds, though the falling star is always in the same place.
