Description

The relationship between bullying and suicide is complex. The media should avoid oversimplifying these issues and insinuating or directly stating that bullying can cause suicide. The facts tell a different story. It is not accurate and potentially dangerous to present bullying as the “cause” or “reason” for a suicide, or to suggest that suicide is a natural response to bullying. Bullying affects all youth, including those who are bullied, those who bully others, and those who witness bullying. The effects of bullying may continue into adulthood.

Often the right path is the one that may be hardest for you to follow. But the hard path is also the one that will make you grow as a human being. – Karen Mueller Coombs, Bully at Ambush Corner Usually people don’t see beyond the surface of things and cannot understand more other than the obvious; they are used to judging a book by its cover, and that is why they don’t hesitate to bully.” – Maria Karvouni People who are victims of any form of violence, including bullying and cyberbullying, have a right to justice and to have the offender held accountable. If you see someone being bullied, make it stop. Why is that so hard for us to do? – Susane Colasanti, Keep Holding OnIf you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.” – Desmond Tutu Meet with the class teacher or arrange an appointment to meet with Ms. Barnett, Mrs Lee or Mrs Camplin. They will endeavour to meet with you on the same day of your enquiry or within 24 hours.

We all must have faced some sort of bullying in our lives, and perhaps it is one of the most devastating and scarring experiences. It is time to say NO to bullying and we at Vantage Circle are unabashedly against it. The first step in dealing with workplace bullying is to raise awareness about it. This is where having a list of anti-bullying quotes for the workplace on display comes in handy. When you experience cyberbullying you might start to feel ashamed, nervous, anxious and insecure about what people say or think about you. This can lead to withdrawing from friends and family, negative thoughts and self-talk, feeling guilty about things you did or did not do, or feeling that you are being judged negatively. Feeling lonely, overwhelmed, frequent headaches, nausea or stomachaches are also common. The bullying may not be deliberate. If you can, talk to the person in question as they may not realise how their behaviour has affected you. Work out what to say beforehand. Describe what's been happening and why you object to it. Stay calm and be polite. If you do not want to talk to them yourself, ask someone else to do it for you. Keep a diary What makes you a real girl or boy is that no one laughs at you. If you are imitation or unreal, the rules give you a right to exist provided you do what the real ones or brutes say. What makes you into me or Charles Morgan is that the rules allow all the girls to be better than me and all the boys better than Charles Morgan.” – Diana Wynne Jones, Witch Week This resource has a clear and engaging design that is great for both Anti-Bullying Week and general year-round display.

There is no excuse for bullying. Not even in schools. The parents should be arrested. But the most worrying thing is that authorities do it: politicians and journalists. They consider it part of their job. This world is wrong. It’s a crime: Causes traumas to vulnerable people. – Maria Karvouni
