Finally they can gather at each other's houses with no restrictions, they can go to the pub and enjoy a drink and they can even have weddings again! With thanks to Netgalley,Alexandra Potter and Pan MacMillan for my chance to read and review this book. Synopsis (It's a fiction book, so it helps…from Netgalley, the provider of the book for me to review. The story of Nell Stevens’ struggle through her imperfect, messy life doesn’t just make brilliant fiction, it’s turning into a cultural revolution! As the eight-year-old on the bouncy castle explains, ‘if you get knocked down, you just get up again. No one is interested in seeing your misery but for some people whose lives aren’t perfect (and by that, I mean everyone), it sometimes feels that those heavily curated posts suggest everyone has it good except….Alexandra Potter's writing is very readable, and it was enjoyable to catch up with Nell and her friends. Whilst sharing the flat with not only Edward and their dog, but also his two teenage sons, a surprise pregnancy test throws Nell's world into a spin. First of all, thank you NetGalley, Pan Macmillan, and Alexandra Potter for allowing me access to this e-ARC!

Born and raised in Yorkshire, Alexandra lived for several years in LA before settling back in the UK. This book was beautifully written, hilariously funny (I was literally snorting out loud at certain points) and I just adored catching up with Nell and Cricket. Kriketas lnija šoreiz man patika vēl jo vairāk - ir iedvesmojoši domāt, ka viss notiek un nav par vēlu arī tad, kad tev jau ir 80+, ne tikai 40+.

there’s the ‘unexpected baggage’, things you thought you’d dealt with and suddenly find that you haven’t. The new Bridget Jones for our times' – Celia Walden, Telegraph'The story of Nell Stevens’ struggle through her imperfect, messy life doesn’t just make brilliant fiction, it’s turning into a cultural revolution! Lol, tears and frankly hallelujah to this book and the first for saying out loud what has been in my head for years!

More of all the fabulous characters plus some delightful new ones, this book is funny and moving in equal measure. Over the course of the novel, we met Nell navigating a post-lockdown world, dealing with her new stepfamily, and learning not to trust what you see on soc Imaginations run riot: there’s the tartan lined one, the one covered with stamps and the glitter-on-willow look. This author always deals with real topics, and they are dealt with sensitively and in a way that breaks the taboo around subjects.I think we all feel like we're supposed to have everything together and life figured out and it's so easy to look at other people and think they have it all figured out when in reality we're all just ducks - smooth going on top and paddling furiously underneath! Catching Up with NellOh I was so excited to see what was happening for Nell after reading Confessions years ago. I admit I winced when I weighed this thick tome in my hands and I raised my eyebrows at the title but I really didn’t need to.
